“A truly superb hotel!”
Reviewed July 18, 2013

The Inn at Laurel Point may not be the biggest hotel in the world, but it is a superb place to spend some time. Usually, when in Victoria, we stay at The Delta Ocean Pointe, but on this occasion we decided to change to the Inn....and we are so glad we did. All the staff made us feel so much at home, and the warmth and friendliness of the whole establishment is a credit to those who work there. The views over the harbour are wonderful, and the rooms are spacious and well appointed if a little bit dated. The bathroom in our suite was great, and the shower brilliant (we all too often stay in hotels where the showers look good, but then are not very effective.
The major bonus here is the restaurant...Aura...again the staff are warm and friendly, the views are awesome, and the food is really wonderful.......in act the best we have had in Victoria!

Room Tip: Ask for a harbour view room....you won't be disappointed!

2 girlfriends and I booked a room here for a "girls weekend", and were completely blown away by the service and location of this hotel. We asked for, and received immediately, more towels, bath robes, toiletries etc. We were given five star service with the valet and car service. Staff recognized and welcomed us every time we walked into the lobby.

The view from our 2nd floor room was amazing, we loved watching the boats and planes on the harbour. The room was quiet, the balcony was lovely, the gardens were peaceful. We met the chef on the grounds one day, who explained to us what the special would be in the Aura Restaurant that evening!

The Inn is located within easy walking distance to many restaurants, pubs, and to the activity happening right in the harbour area. We opted for the "Bed and Breakfast" special, and received fabulous breakfasts each morning, along with free parking and car service.

We loved our stay and will return!

I was here for a weekend in July. From the moment I walked into the lobby until the moment I left, I felt as though I was a very important client. The hotel room was beautiful and comfortable. I had a very large balcony that had an uninterrupted view of the harbour where I could have a glass of wine and enjoy the sunset. Downtown is within walking distance as are many restaurants. Water taxis are available to take you back if your feet get tired from the walking. Aura restaurant also has a great view of the harbour and a well rounded menu from a creative Chef. I will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Choose a room in the Erickson wing for the best views of the harbour.

I am staying at this hotel right now and do yourself a favor KEEP LOOKING. This hotel has a really old wing that they offer up at a discount. There are better deals in Victoria harbor area. This feels a little like a bait and switch.

Room Tip: There are some great new hotels that provide better value. This hotel has a really old wing that doe...

Hi dsimb,

Well, I was certainly dismayed to read your review of your recent stay with us.It is truly unfortunate that you did not find your room in our Laurel Wing to be to your liking. You see, you are right in saying that our Laurel Wing is older than our Erickson Wing, but we clearly indicate that on our website. There is a clear distinction between the two.We like to think that this is advantageous for all types of guests who are looking to experience our 4 star plus service and standards all under one roof, yet have the option between selecting the super Lux Erickson Wing or the more modestly appointed Laurel Wing with budgets to suit every pocketbook. Our well trained reservations agents are well versed in the appointment and pricing of each of our 200 rooms and I can assure you that "bait and switch" is not something that we need to do -ever.
Personally, I don't think you can find a better waterfront room is all of Victoria regardless on the wing you are in.

I do hope you will find my comments helpful and I really hope you will reconsider and return to our lovely Inn one day.

All the best

~Judy~

We were here for a week-end in June. We up-graded our regular room for a fee of $20 or so. Boy were we ever glad we got the up-grade. The room was huge. The balcony was also huge. The best part was the bathroom. We had never seen such a fancy hotel bathroom!:)
The decor was exquisite.
Everything in the room was perfect.
The only thing that could be a bit better was the hotel's swimming pool area. It would have been nice if there had been a hot tub in the pool area, especially for winter use.

Room Tip: Up-grade your room! You won't regret it:D

Hi washington0809!

I agree whole heartly with your decision to upgrade to one of our Erickson Wing Studio Suites- aren't they fabulous? It's a wonderful treat! Our Laurel Wing rooms are also lovely but more standard in their appointment - but - great for the budget conscious traveller who is looking for the same great service but more moderate in price.
And...I agree with you, our Erickson Wing marble bathrooms are truly spectacular and I am pretty sure they are bigger than my entire first apartment when I was a kid!
So happy that you enjoyed your stay!
See you again one day!

Arrived at the Inn at Laurel Point on Friday evening and had a quick check in. Valet Parking included in the parking fee. Very efficient. The room was very nice, with a great view of the Harbour and the legislature.
Nice breakfast, though a bit expensive i thought.
Great location, easy walk to Downtown. very nice facilities, and a lovely view.
All in all a very nice weekend.

We discoverd Victoria and Inn at Laurel Point last year on a 3 day trip over to the Island and fell in love with it. The hotel has nothing but the best rooms overlooking a very busy harbour with seaplanes coming and going, ferries to the States and not forgetting the little busy aqua ferries which go all around the harbour. We returned this year for an extensive visit to the Island and again stayed at the Inn. The rooms are well appointed, excellent Internet connections, beds are comfortable and the dining room very spacious with outside eating if you wish. There is a small pool at the back of the hotel so conveniently placed if children wish to make noise. The staff are efficient friendly and greet everyone with a smile. The hotel is level walking to the town and also enjoys a lovely watefront walkways. Suitable for all ages and abilities. We love this hotel and are planning another visit soon.

Room Tip: Not always necessary to have air conditioner on as the large sliding doors give excellent air circul...

Dear Michael G,

Thank you for your heartfelt review. I agree with you that Victoria and the island are pretty easy to fall in love with. I cannot think of a more beautiful place to explore in the summer time. We have a lovely combination of natural outdoor beauty combined with a certainly trendiness and ease of living that makes life here so wonderful.
So glad you enjoyed your return trip and that you enjoyed the peacefulness of our beautiful inn.

Enjoy the rest of your summer.
