Even in the rain, it is a treat to sit on the balcony and watch the amazing amount of activity on the harbour - the ferries and water taxis come and go and the planes land despite the wind...and then occasionally you see the locals take their sailboat or motor craft out for a spin! t night, it is a wonderful light show. Staff was excellent - got a vase for my spring flowers and an extra suitcase stand which helped make our stay more comfortable. We were in the Erickson wing.

We stayed in the Laurel wing for a week through "WestJet" vacations. I phoned ahead and asked for a top floor facing the inner harbor which was awesome as we got the afternoon and evening sun. We enjoyed waking up each morning to see the float planes and boats going in & out of the harbor.
Other pro's...lots of soft hot water, small bathroom with nice features, free internet, fast elevators, free access to business center for boarding passes, free in room safe, iron & ironing board, aveno bath products, quality tea and coffee selection, wonderful maid service, couch area, very clean room, and very friendly efficient front staff and doormen/valets.
Con's...the units are a bit outdated with some scuff marks on door and walls and tired furniture. The bed was hard, $15 a day for parking (self or valet), microwave fee of $10 for the week, small balcony with no furniture, there was a leak on the ceiling which was repaired and the toilet and hallway was noisy.
Overall though we were very happy with the location and really enjoyed our stay here. You can upgrade to the Erickson wing which is more luxurious but it will cost you an extra $68 night.

We had a reservation at this hotel and had specified having a room in a newer wing of the hotel. We discovered that because we had booked using an onliine hotel booking service to acquire the reservation that the hotel has the right to change the reservation. They did not have the room available and were very unfriendly about it stating "that its too bad if you book through another agency you have to take your chances". They were very rude about it and the manager argued that even though we had stayed at the hotel in the past there was no loyalty and no concern and no help. We were very disappointed and learned the hard way that booking on line is taking a chance also being aware that this hotel does not take kindly to custormers who have done so.

Room Tip: Beware if you are trying to book this hotel through a third party online agency

The hotel itself is nice IF you are in the Erikson wing... if not the rooms are starting to fall apart, and really gross for what you are paying to stay here.

I am most annoyed with the customer service and false representation on the website. We picked to stay at this hotel because the rooms had balconies, I paid extra for a room that guaranteed a balcony... check into the hotel, went up to the room and besides the room starting to fall apart and be really dated, the balcony was a Romeo and Julliet style... this is not mentioned in the website... how are two people supposed to sit on a deck and relax when its barely big enough to stand on? SO I went to front desk to talk to them and let them know I was not happy... well the only solution they had was for us to PAY for an upgrade to the nicer section on the hotel... this ticked me off to no end but in the end we did do it as the whole reason for this trip was to sit on the deck in the sun and watch the boats go by... we could have stayed at MUCH nicer places for less than what this ended up costing us...

For this reason we will never stay here again, we will find somewhere nicer and that offers what it advertises...

The room that we stayed in was fantastic. It was facing the inner harbour in the Laurel Wing, and the view was amazing! The bed was comfortable, and the pillows were not the cheap kind you find in other hotels. There were only two problems that we found in this hotel. The rooms need better soundproofing. If someone was talking in the hallway, it sounded like they were right in the room. Not exactly what I want to wake up to at 3:00 in the morning. The only other problem (and it's very minor) was the elevator. The door opened before the elevator was fully stopped, and it made me feel sick every single time because of the way it stopped. These are very little problems, and we enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful, and said 'hello' whenever we went through the lobby. An amazing hotel, an amazing location, and we'll be back.

Room Tip: Spend a little extra and get a room that faces the harbour.
