“Enjoyable Victoria experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

We stayed at the Inn at Laurel Point for 2 nights; August 18th and 19th 2012. We had a very nice room in the Erickson Wing. Very spacious and quiet. The room overlooked the Inner Harbor, and we were able to see the numerous finishes of the ‘Dragon Boat’ races. We had breakfast 2 mornings in the dining room; service was excellent and the food delicious. The Inn is very close to downtown and easy to navigate. We would certainly stay here again when we are in Victoria. Check-in was delayed for a few hours - but the staff was very informative - we are flexible.

stayed here in a room you could play 5 a side in with a view of the harbour. 5 minuites from the hub of the town walking around the harbour edge. There are parking facilities at the hotel and the staff are helpfull if needed. I will stay again next time

Room Tip: spend a few more dollars and dont look at the car park!

We stayed two nights mid October and were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. This property is well situated offering privacy and seclusion while only a short walk to many of Victoria's attractions. Our room was on the fourth floor of the Erickson Wing over looking the harbour. The room was very spacious and the architecture, design, and colours very calming. The staff we encountered at the front desk and dining room displayed a passion for excellence. We enjoyed one dinner and one breakfast in the dining room, Aura. The food presentation, quality, and the service staff were beyond expectations.

We could have camped out in the bathroom alone. After spending a few days in a very spartan cabin on one of the Gulf Islands, we were delighted to arrive in Victoria and check in to the Inn at Laurel Point. Our room was lovely - huge, roomy, fresh and welcoming. The bathroom was awesome: large (huge) and well designed with big tub, wonderful shower, lots of towels, bathrobes, double sinks and and nice amenities. The housekeeping was superb (but if you want the room done after 11:00 be sure you tell the desk). We had a deck with a nice view and comfortable chairs. And the place was SO quiet.
Nice pay parking opposite the hotel. Well-lit secure parking lot.
We did not use the restaurant, though we did have a pleasant drink in the bar one night. The only concern I would mention is that if one is walking - and we walked almost the whole time in Victoria - there is a pleasant walk to the hotel past the Parliament Buildings and various hotels. But at night that last private block to the Inn is very dark and just doesn't feel safe.
We will be watching for more special deals at the Inn at Laurel Point - we would just love to return.

Dear Schindells,

Thank you for your heartfelt review. I am so glad that you enjoyed our little oasis at Laurel Point.
You mentioned that there is a dark area on the city walkway adjacent our property. I wanted you to know that we have brought this issue to the attention of the City of Victoria, who is the owner of the walkway. Although the area is lit, I think the big trees in that area, as beautiful as they are, may be blocking some of the light. I will definitely be passing your comments on.
Thank you again, have a wonderful fall and we look forward to your next visit… and review!
Sincerely,

~Judy~

We stayed for three nights in September during a two week trip to the Pacific Northwest. Our suite was huge, comfortable, well appointed and came with the most delightful balcony. We spent hours out there relaxing and enjoying the fabulous view of the harbor. We loved the location as it was walkable to everything but a bit off the beaten path. We had limited contact with the staff but everyone we encountered was pleasant.

The only area for improvement was the fitness room. For a hotel of this size and quality, it was laughable. Despite that, we plan to return the next time we're in Victoria.

Dear Greataunt,

Thank you for the great review! I agree with you that the balconies on the Erickson Wing side of the hotel are spectacular for watching all the harbour activity, whether it be the inner or outer harbour, there is always something interesting to see. Of course, when the sun goes down, the activity ceases and a calm comes over the harbour. That is a great time to pour a glass of your favourite beverage and watch all the twinkly evening lights.
You mentioned that you found our work out room to be too small. We all wish it was bigger but I think for the use it gets, it is definitely adequate. I am told that the equipment is absolutely A1 and the amenities are well stocked.
So, in closing, I would like to thank you again and hope that we will the opportunity to serve you again one day!

Most Sincerely,

~Judy~

Great property overlooking the harbour.Had a wonderful room on the fourth floor(standard) so that we could see the water taxis, ferrries, and float planes. The entire staff could not have been nicer. The reception staff helped us organize our whale watching tour and other dining options. We had several meals at the hotel and all of the selections were great...the eggs at breakfast reminded me of the "real" eggs that I used to have as a kid! The hotel is a two minute walk to the ferry dock and short walk to the downtown area. Would love to stay again!!

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views

This hotel is in an ideal location, overlooking the inner harbour. The reception area was not inspiring, but the rooms and views more than made up for this. Apparently all rooms have water views and we were fortunate to have a view overlooking the inner harbour. The rooms were spacious, the beds comfortable and bathroom facilities were also very good. The hotel was a 20 min pleasant walk from downtown, or a 10 min walk in the opposite direction to Fisherman’s Wharf. A buffet breakfast was provided towards the back of the lobby area, and this overlooked a different view of the harbour area. The breakfast was good and catered for most tastes – no complaints. While we stayed at the hotel, we enjoyed a light lunch on their bar/restaurant terrace which had terrific views of the comings and goings on the harbour – what a treat! An attractive hotel in a lovely location.

Dear paula67Adelaide,

I am so glad that you enjoyed your visit to our lovely Inn and that you had an opportunity to enjoy the comings and goings of our cute little harbour. It is a bustling place during the day, what with the whale watching boats, the MV Coho ferry and those busy little Harbour planes buzzing around. I could spend hours watching the harbour activity, but somehow, I don't think my boss would approve of that :)
Yes, we put on a lovely breakfast buffet for our special tour groups - and - we can even customize a menu to include items such as Veggimite for our Austrailian friends.

Again, thanks for your review and happy travels!
