Stayed at the Embassy Inn in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia in August 2009 with 3 other girl friends. We had two adjoining rooms. Lovely view even though we were not on the waterfront. Nice hotel one block from waterfront, right beside the parliament buildings and one block from the Royal B.C. Museum. Actually, was nice to be a block off the main waterfront street as it is very busy and noisy at times. You can walk everywhere in this vicinity right near the inner harbour of Victoria - which is the main tourist area. Great shopping, restaurants, artisan vendors, gardens and flowers everywhere. The Embassy Inn also had a nice outdoor pool. We found the water a little too warm! Rooms were clean and tidy with a coffee maker in room. Everything was very nice and definitely will stay at this hotel again. The staff were really friendly. This is a great location for visiting the city of Victoria and being able to walk in every direction and not need a car. And - compared with other hotels in the surrounding area, it is a very good deal.

Booked thru Expedia and it met all our expectations. Great check-in with many helpful hints and a discount coupon for the Royal BC Museum. Room was spacious, like new, quiet even though it was only 20 feet from the elevator. Ample free parking which was a plus. A few blocks from everything.

Room was quite large and comfortable, with kitchenette and dining table. Best parts about this hotel: very, very close to all downtown Victoria attractions and free parking. Staff very pleasant. I recommend.

We were in Victoria for the Dragon Boat races with a group from Coquitlam called Nothin' Dragon. My wife and I were in one room on the ground floor with the pool right outside our door. The room was very clean with nice furniture and a very large comfortable bed. The amenities like the hair dryer, nice size table and chairs, and the TV with remote made our stay more comfortable after a hard day on the water. The location is very handy to the inner harbout and other tourist sites. We were able to leave our vehicle parked at the hotel and walk to all our race sites and evening activities. The restaurant was nice with a good breakfast menu, and the early start allowed our team to eat and make it to the race site on time for our race. I would stay there again with no complaints.
Thanks
The Newmans

As with the previous reviewer, we were in Victoria during the heat wave at the end of July beginning of August. We chose this hotel because it has a/c as well as a very good price for the location. This hotel has an old section and a newer section. We stayed in the newer part of the hotel. We had a very nice room with a well-functioning a/c.

A very nice gentleman at the BC visitors center at the ferry pier in Port Angeles made the reservation for us 30 minutes before we boarded the express ferry to Victoria. He called the hotel for us and specified that we wanted a room with a/c. We were in our comfortable and cool room within 20 minutes of departing the ferry. We were very happy with the choice.

As the Vancouver area was having the highest temperatures on record we booked the hotel based on it having air conditiong "in every room" per the Expedia website unfortunately this is not the case. We discovered this just before leaving North Vancouver for the Ferry. We called the hotel front desk who were unhappy when we called asked that they honour our online booking through Expedia. After arriving at the hotel it was clear that the front desk chap was still harbouring a grudge re our booking we were told our room would be ready at 3:30pm NOT the 3:00pm on the Expedia website.
After getting into our room (#311) we discovered that while it had a/c it didnt actually work
eventually we were moved to another room where we found air that worked and all was well for the rest of the trip.
The hotel is good value for money and we would "possibly" stay again however be careful when booking online the "All rooms have air" has been changed BUT Expedia still quotes a 3:00pm check in and the hotel says 3:30

Totally misleading photos in advertisement below average dining room uncomfortable beds shabby sheets and blankets peeling paint in the bathroom and a towel bar and shelf that literally fell off the wall. This hotel needs a major refurbishing but the price does not reflect this.
