We stayed at the Rialto and it was quite nice, we got a good deal for the middle of the Summer on a long weekend. The exterior of the building is beautiful and the rooms are nicely done with some good amenities. We checked in at about 9:30 and were dissapointed that they had one staff on and he was running around trying to help guests check in and going to rooms to help guests. He was very friendly as were all the staff.
Two small down sides were the size of the bathroom in our room was like a closet and some of the room had nice spacious bathrooms, the other was the parking is behind a building kitty corner to the hotel and it is a bit sketchy.

The part I had a real problem with was, was the city itself, we returned on Saturday night from a wedding and the hotel was surrounded by drunk hoodlums(probably 50 young guys and girls) a couple of who tried to pick a fight with me and wouldn't let me through the door of the hotel, not helped by there being no front desk staff after 11 pm. I don't let this reflect on the hotel, but the city itself, I have visited Victoria many times but won't be returning anytime soon.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone. We received excellent friendly service from all staff at this hotel. A nicely decorated hotel with character, and close to the downtown sights of Victoria.

We loved the old building and the restoration was done beautifully. The room was very clean and very comfortable. Although there are no balconies the windows are large which gave an open and airy feel to the room and great for people watching. The staff was friendly and welcoming especially Robert at the front desk. The location turned out to be a good one for us as we did lots of shopping and dining right around the hotel area but it was still walkable to the harbour and parliament buildings and park. We did enjoy our stay and we will return to the Hotel Rialto on our next Victoria visit.

We booked this hotel off of the internet when we were researching locations for a wedding trip. It was an outstanding location, the staff was amazing and we really enjoyed the boutique hotel experience. We would very definitely recommend this hotel to everyone who is traveling to Victoria and wants to experience the downtown location. You can walk everywhere from the hotel with ease.

This past weekend was our son's Bar Mitzvah and we occupied nearly half of the Rialto's rooms. We were very well taken care of with great rates and service! Thanks again to Rob, Margaret, and the entire Rialto staff for their wonderful customer service and smiles!! I am sure that you will receive lots of business from our guests!!

This hotel was upgraded in May 2009, and exceeded all of what we expected. Manager and staff were extremely friendly and willing to assist. We had our older daughter with us, and had booked a room with 2 beds, only to discover our room actually was divided into 2 smaller rooms complete with bathrooms in both! Price was great, stayed 4 nights. Super downtown location, walking distance to just about every downtown attraction. Access by car from the airport is easy, car park was in a compound across the street and around the corner, no problem. Reminded us of a typical downtown European hotel.
