Our visit to the Dashwood Manor was fabulous. The Manor is within walking distance of coffee shops, restaurants and beautiful scenery. The beautiful character home provided warmth and comfort beyond our expectations. Our room was large, very clean, well equipped with a traditional feel and overlooked the park and the sea. During our visit the Christmas Parade of Lights ran right under our window – we watched from the comfort of our room! The food was tasty, healthy and portions were just right. Our substitute hosts, Don and Jeanette, were very friendly and helpful. I’d recommend the Dashwood Manor over and over!!

Dashwood Manor is a warm and welcoming place right on the water on the South side of Victoria. It's a short walk to downtown and shorter walk to the Cook St area shops. Great breakfast in the morning and very comfortable beds!

My teenaged daughter and I stayed at Dashwood Manor for 2 nights during Spring Break - a girls getaway. We had a lovely room on the second floor with a great view over the ocean. The bed was very comfortable with many fluffy pillows. Dave was very accommodating by bringing in a TV for us to watch the chick flick DVD we had brought (we also brought along our own DVD player) and by providing a stool for me to clamber into bed.The bathroom was compact, but bright and clean. The breakfasts were creative and very tasty. The wireless internet was very fast and allowed us both to keep in touch with home. I particularly enjoyed the ambience in the dining room and the interesting guests we met. The whole house was a joy to visit - the original stained glass and paneling were beautiful. The Italian restaurant Dave recommended was very good as well. Overall, a great getaway for a fair price

My wife and I picked Dashwood for a quiet and relaxing spring break and we were not disappointed. The B&B is located immediately next to Beacon Hill Park, along with the walking path along the ocean that eventually leads into the heart of the city. It is about a 20 minute walk into the city, either through or around the park. There is also a small "village" just 5 minutes' walk down the street with some restaurants (including a great authentic Italian pizzeria), a grocery store and a drug store. The location of the house is also great for very quiet nights...no traffic noise at all. We loved the location.

Most of the rooms have views of the ocean, as did ours, so its possible to read in front of the windows and watch ships go by, or watch the many joggers going by. The B&B is itself an almost 100-year old house--very charming and lots of character. Our room was large with a soaker tub in the corner, although the bathroom is a little tight...can really only have one person in there at a time, comfortably, but that's to be expected in an old house like this. The bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean.

The breakfasts were also something to look forward to. The breakfast room looks out to the water through a large window, the food was great, and the mood was enhanced with the music played in there each morning (some Dianna Krall, Michael Buble, and others).

The hosts are also very helpful and responsive to any requests.

Dashwood Manor does what a good B & B should do--it gives you a snapshot of the community. The view was breathtaking with Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains visable from our room. The house was lovely, the food delicious, the hosts were gracious, and the gardens were lush. All the same attributes that we found in Victoria as a whole. We would recommend it highly!
