Coast Victoria Hotel & Marina by APA

The hotel is located right at the end (beginning?) of the seawalk around the inner harbour. It is a perfectly pleasant walk to town and back even late at night. We thoroughly enjoyed the activities in town be we were glad we opted to stay a bit away from the noise of the crowds at night. Besides, walking gave us an opportunity to work off some of the calories from the awesome meals we had in Victoria.
Our room had a small balcony, a perfect place to have a glass of wine (chilled in the room's refrigerator) and take in the fascinating activities in the harbour. We left the balcony door open at night. It gets really peaceful. It was fun to wake up in the morning and watch Victoria come to life (that happens earlier on weekdays than on weekend mornings). As the sea plane activity winds down in the late afternoon harbour seals come out to play just below the hotel balconies.
The room was nothing fancy (we stayed at a Coast hotel in Edmonton that was phenomenal). It was old and not so nicely decorated, but it had all the amenties we needed, and it was super clean. We would definitely return.

We spent one night at the hotel in a Superior Harbourview room with a small terras on the harbour. The room was absolutely excellent, as was the service at the front desk. We had no noise from the floating planes (but it was a saturday, so that might be the reason) and had a good price via Expedia. We had breakfast in the hotel, service and food were good. People complaining on Trip Advisor that you cannot walk to the center of the city must have a physical problem or be extremely lazy. It is a nice 15min. walk with a view on the harbor that brings you right to the most beautifull places in the city.

We had two harbourside rooms, one which had a huge balcony, the other did not. We walked to downtown Victoria along the water which was very picturesque. The hotel does seem a little rundown and could have been cleaner. The staff was helpful although service was slow in the restaurant and when checking out.

We stayed four nights in a 5th floor harbor-side room with a small balcony over-looking the hotel's marina and the inner harbor of Victoria. The view from our balcony and out our patio door was tremendous. The downtown inner-harbor was a 10 to 15 minute walk along the harbor boardwalk. It was far enough away from the bustle of downtown, but close enough for a pleasant walk along the boardwalk. In the other direction, fisherman's wharf was a 5 minute walk along the boardwalk. The water taxi stopped every 5 to 15 minutes right at the hotel's pier. The single, queen-bed room was sufficiently spacious for the two of us with amenities typical of a four-star hotel.
The hotel restaurant and bar had a fabulous view and excellent service. The one dinner and one breakfast we had at the restaurant was spectacular. The dinner prices were a bit spendy but consistent with other nice restaurants in Victoria. I thought the breakfast prices were reasonable and I highly recommend the crab-cakes eggs-benedict.

We had a wonderful 2-night stay at the Coast Harbourside, Victoria in mid-July. The courteous front desk staff was able to accomodate our early check-in to #915, a very comfortable, tastefully decorated corner room with a lovely view of the outer harbour; float homes were visible just below. The room had a tiny "Juliet" balcony facing the hotel next door but affording views of the harbour as well. Great bed, roomy bath. Immaculately clean. Easy chair, large desk, and great free internet access, plus a small fridge.

Enjoyed lunch in the hotel's Blue Crab restaurant; food and service were great. Because of the hotel's free shuttle service and nice location (an easy and beautiful 10-minute walk along the seawall into the city), we did not have to take our car out of the garage at all during our stay.

The hotel dock is a stop along the harbour ferry route, which is very convenient. For us, an added convenience was that the Orca Spirit whale watching company is located in the hotel; these trips depart from the hotel dock. We had some lovely strolls along the seawall in the evening.

Some other reviewers have complained about the sound of seaplanes taking off and landing. We did not find this to be a problem; it was not particularly loud and no different from the city sounds that might be found near any in-town hotel. Plane traffic appears to be allowed only from about 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

We would be happy to stay here again.

Based on prior reviews we chose this four star, smoke-free full service hotel on Victoria's waterfront, and we were not disappointed. It is located but a few blocks from the inner harbor with its tourist attractions, a hotel shuttle bus offers complementary transfers, and the famous and popular water taxi stops every few minutes on the marina dock behind the hotel.

Check-in was handled by friendly, efficient staff, and upon our request for a quiet room were assigned a room with a city view. On the harbor side of the hotel float planes land and take off during the day, not that we were in our room much during the day. The generously sized, well furnished room with a small balcony had a king size bed, couch and couch table, desk, INTERNET connection, fridge, large screen TV, iron/ironing board, but no in-room safe. The room as well as the recently updated bath with tub/shower combo were spotless, fresh smelling, and quiet at night. Paid parking in a secure underground gated garage with amply sized stalls is available.

Albeit somewhat pricey, the acclaimed in-house restaurant the Blue Crab offers gourmet food not to be missed. All the while one can watch the comings and goings on the water of the harbor. In summary, the Coast Harborside Hotel offers a comfortable room at a reasonable price near all in Victoria, and we would stay there again at a future return to the city.

We stayed one night because waiting for the ferry to Port Angeles the next day. The room was one of the best I have had the pleasure to stay in. We could find no flaw whatsoever. The view of the harbor was magnificent. The hotel is close to all of the places of interest around the harbor and extremely convenient if one is taking the ferry to Port Angeles, WA.
