...Just basically leaving compliments : of how very friendly and charming are the employees to management staff. It is very quiet and cozy and comfortable.

And the Location WOW love it,...it's in the inner harbour which is great for all the shopping needs to walkabout everywhere. Again i would stay here again and again and will definitely recomend this to friends families and as well as fellow strangers , who are heading towards the coast.

This hotel has been our choice for many years now. The hotel is smaller, but cozy and welcoming. The rooms are spacious, clean, have great views of the harbour, and are equipped with kitchenettes - ideal for families who don't necessarily want to eat out for each meal. The location is ideal - situated on a quiet street close to the waterfront, legislature, museum, etc. - all within walking distance.
The staff are exceptional. They are friendly and courteous, and help to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, by providing the best service ever. We always recommend this hotel to all our friends. Ken & Eileen Sherwood Park

Since our last stay at the Best Western Inner Harbour , the addition to the complementary breakfast area was finished. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the glassed addition turned out. There was so much room and you even installed a large flat screen t.v. I was also able to make my own waffle, very tasty. Everything was self serve and well thought out.The weather was perfect, very little rain . Also, just across from the hotel we got a guided bus tour which was very informative and interesting. Looking forward to coming back to enjoy the many amenities your hotel has to offer !

When we made the reservation for 2 nights, we requested a room with a harbor view . We had room #411-A, an end unit on the 4th floor facing the harbor. We had a beautiful room with a small kitchenette and eating table and big sliding glass doors off the bedroom that lead to a deck with a harbor view. There was another window looking over a park on the other wall by the bedroom sitting area. The bathroom was nice also. This was a beautiful room and a continental breakfast and free parking were included in the room price. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. This is a wonderful hotel.

However, on this trip we also stayed at The Helms Inn which was equally as clean, had a slightly better location, with a very plain room, no view, and no continental breakfast but was MUCH less expensive. In the future, we would forgo the view and the niceties for the cost savings and stay at the Helm's unless the exchange rate was more favorable to the dollar or cost was not an issue.

We booked two rooms at this hotel for a quick mid-week getaway.

At the last minute we had an issue with our dogsitter, so had to figure out an alternative. plan. It was under the 48hrs notice for cancellation, and this hotel does not accept pets. We had to change to their sister hotel (The other Best Western in Victoria) which did accept pets.

Regardless of the fact we were still staying at their chain for the nights in question this particular hotel still charged us for both rooms for not providing enough notice of cancellation.

I understand that this was our issue and we were aware of their policy, which is fairly standard... I have never actually had a hotel hold me to it when some sort of mitigating circumstances came up.

In this particular case, the hotel did not lose any business because they were only booked to around 30% capacity PLUS we stayed with their brand as we had a very good experience recently with one in another town. Had the hotel been sold out and they actually lost business from turning folks away due to our reservation, I would have had no issue with them charing us... that was not the case in this scenario.

The desk person whom we called was not very polite or helpful, even when the desk clerk at the other location called them and tried to have them not go through with the charges. The clerk atr our new hotel made it clear that he has a lot of discretion when enforcing that policy and tends to only ever do it rarely and when they are sold out on the night.

We were quite happy with the hotel we did stay in, but are less than impress at spending an extra several hundred dollars for a hotel we did not end up staying at.

These comments came us a complete surprise, as we extended much more than was noted and certainly provided the best service with a more than fair solution. We understand that things can come up, and we take each situation as it comes and work with our guests on the best possible solution.

While we are not pet friendly, we work with neighbouring hotels that are to ensure that where we cannot accommodate a guest travelling with a pet that their needs are met. And for those with allergies, we can assure those guests of a healthy and allergy free stay.

Our hotel received your call inquiring if we accept pets on day of arrival around 5:30 pm. As you had reserved 2 rooms, as an exception and as a courtesy to you we released one room as a late cancellation without any penalty to you and further advised you that the 2nd room/ reservation would be held for you. It was our understanding there was only one pet with you, and as such only one pet room was needed. Our cancellation policy for your reserved date was 48 hours prior to arrival. Your decision to stay elsewhere with both rooms was your choice and by doing so incurred an additional “no show” expense at a government rate of just over $100 (and not the several hundred dollars as you indicated).

You also state that our hotel was only partly booked but this is far from the case, and not sure where you got this information. In truth, our occupancy is not as low as 30% in any month of the year, and the night you would have stayed we were fully booked in the room category you reserved.

The fact that you did not like the fair solution we made as an exception to you should not be taken as poor service by our staff. I am proud to say that we have award-winning team of staff. Just look at the many comments from our guests that echo their experience in receiving excellent service from our staff.

Spent a relaxing 4 days in this hotel conveniently placed near the inner harbour. The friendly staff made this stay so enjoyable. The hotel is getting a little dated, especially in the bathrooms, but is great value - given the amenities, location and breakfast.
Would stay here again on another business trip.

Thanks so much for staying with us, and for your comments!

We update various areas of the hotel and items in our guest rooms every year. On that note, during this upcoming winter, we will be renovating the full kitchens in the remaining 23 guest studios (all other kitchens were renovated last winter). We also just replaced the TVs in all rooms and now have shiny new Samsung 37" flat screen TVs in all guest studios and 40" flat screen TVs in our one-bedroom suites.

If you could kindly email us at manager@victoriabestwestern.com with any specific comments on how we update our bathrooms we would very much appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks again for choosing our hotel when travelling to Victoria. We look forward to your next stay!

Spotless, quality room with very nice furnishings only 1 1/2 blocks from the Coho/Port Angeles ferry dock. The beds really are very, very comfortable! As we had a two year old we re-quested a crib and even baby blankets which were waiting in our room. Our room on the 8th floor had a spacious tile floor balcony allowing us to enjoy the outside as we were experiencing hot weather the days we were in Victoria, BC. A small kitchen with appliances (and even a table with 2 chairs) was handy to store sodas and the little one's milk, yogurt and juice. A nice variety of foods and beverages were available in a light and pleasant breakfast room with a greenhouse window wall viewing a garden patio. We could walk everywhere as it was located 1 block from the Inner Harbor. We drove to The Butchart Gardens and parked our car in the free underground garage. We will definitly stay at the Best Western Inner Harbor again.
