“basic transport -come with low expectations”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

We took the ferry from Victoria to Port Angeles. The boat is old and and makes the newest BC ferries that operate between Victoria and Vancouver (for roughly the same ticket price) look like luxury liners. The seating is not comfortable. The only snack bar hardly has anything to choose from. The duty free shop was poorly stocked. Leaving Victoria, you need to be there at least 90 minutes ahead to go through customs. If you want to make a reservation it is a lot cheaper online vs by phone and cheaper if you reserve return rather book each one separately, This boat will get you there but has made me look at the big BC Ferries with new and surprising appreciation. Amazing!

“Safe and Reliable”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

For a no frills but safe and reliable trip from Victoria to the USA, we prefer the Coho rather than the BC Ferries. The Black Ball Ferry Line keep things simple, no frills but reliable so the prices stay reasonable. It is a treat to see Victoria from the water in one of many seats on the Coho Ferry. Recommended.

“The only way to get to Victoria from the Olympic Peninsula”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

OK - These folks have a bit of a monopoly on getting from the Olympic Peninsula to Victoria - but they don't act like it. The staff are friendly and helpful and accommodating. It's expensive to take your car - We didn't and made do with walking and cabs. On an earlier trip we didn't take a car and our daughter rented a car in Victoria. It was still cheaper than taking our own car round-trip on the Ferry.

“book a reservation”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

I recommend to have a reservation on the ferry Port Angeles-Victoria and also for the return. We were in the middle of the week, not on holiday season and we just made it!
