The museum contains more than 35,000 artifacts and includes the sailboats Dorothy, Trekka and Tilikum with stories of their incredible adventures.
For the younger members of your family, there is a "Pirate School" which provides training on how "to be the best of the worst!"
Housed in a 124 year building that was once the old Supreme Courthouse, the Maritime Museum is said to be haunted and offers a special ghost tour where you will learn about recent and former ghostly encounters. The courthouse is best known for its connection to the infamous former Chief Justice Matthew Baillie Begbie, aka "The Hanging Judge."
They also have a tour scheduled where you can learn about how Victoria got its start as a Hudson Bay Company fort. The brick inlay that marks the old fort's perimeter can still be seen.
Another item of note on the building is that it contains a birdcage elevator which is said to be the oldest in continuous operation in the province.
