“Beautiful gardens!”
Reviewed August 3, 2012

Enjoyed walking through the beautiful gardens one evening while visiting Victoria. The gardens are free and open to the public. Many lovely homes in the area also so enjoy a leisurely stroll.

“Newly open tea house”
Reviewed August 3, 2012

I love the effort of the 400 volunteers, the garden is maintained by volunteers with love and sincerity. They just opened the museum and tea house, totally under-priced for such excellent quality afternoon tea and dessert, the tarts are amazing, and most items are made by the CHEF at the Governor House, you won't be able to pay that price for such quality snack anywhere in the world!!! Opens only on Wed, Fri and Sat in 2012.

“It's Government house - beautiful gardens lovely interior”
Reviewed August 2, 2012

Honored to be inside. Beautiful, stately and an honor to meet the LG. A more formal gathering but I support our LG, the Queen and Canada's rich history so a visit is a pleasure.

“Red Feather Tea - United Way.”
Reviewed August 2, 2012

As always being invited to attend is a pleasure. The food was well prepared, and nicely presented. The entertainment was lovely. Government House is always a treat to visit with it's lovely gardens, and pathways.

“The BEST place to relax EVER!”
Reviewed July 29, 2012

The gardens are open to the public(for free) from sunup
to sunset. They are lush & green. The flowers are breath-taking. I saw deer, ducks (and their 8 babies!), and various birds/butterflies. There are water features and a plethora of little paths to explore. There are also welcoming benches everywhere you may wish to sit and just take in all the beauty. The back side of the grounds overlook the ocean and some mountains. There is a wildlife preserve right behind it to hike down into. People are friendly but don't bother you if you are reading or lost in thought.
I saw 2 gentlemen carving out a new totem pole and visited the little souvenir shop (over-priced) and the little tea room (sunny & cheerful w/tasty treats).
It is incredibly peaceful and lovely. This attraction is the main reason I've returned to Victoria so many times for vacation.
