“A gem!”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

A hidden gem! Tea was excellent with lots of yummy goodies. Would have been made more special if they used cloth napkins and fine china- they used run of the mill dishes.
It happened to be a sunny, warm day so the outside tea experience was a delight in the beautiful garden with butterfies flitting about. Staff was friendly and informative. Free tour of the house(included with the tea) was a plus. Don't make the mistake of walking here from Government Way. You will have to pass through an ugly industrial area. Take a water taxi from Downton.

“One hundred years in one house”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

Take the tour and tea on the lawn. This house is a unique museum because all of the items displayed belonged to one family who resided in the home for over 100 years. Every shoe, pot, hairbrush, china plate and croquette mallet belonged to the Ellice family. Tea is outdoors on the lawn, and very generous portions.

“Quiet amongst all the noise”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

Quiet old house in the middle of an industrial area. Had a very enjoyable time while visiting Point Ellice House. Had basically a private tour with a wonderful lady who obviously loved working there. We also had tea and a nice lunch out in the garden. Kind away from everything else and in the middle of a construction/industrial area but worth the effort to get there.

“Lovely”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

Went there once for tea with my sister, mother and one of my mother's friends. Lovely tea and snacks. The history is excellently preserved and fantastic to walk through and see how people lived when the building was first built.

“Hidden history.”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

Amongst the industrial side of the upper harbour sits a piece of Victoria history. As they can move house`s now, I wish they would move this story and it`s house to near the museum. Nice staff, nice shop, but not the best.
