I wish I could watch a full length film here. I have only seen short nature films and my experience is limited by the quality of those films. We just saw KENYA here and it felt a little too much like The Lion King realized and the quality of the film was very much not HD. I think watching a feature length film here would be great. The seats are steep stadium-style and easy to access. The screen is huge and the sound system awesome.

Thank you kindly for your comments.

You're right, and at the risk of sounding a little bias, the full length feature films do look great on our screen. We're playing Star Trek Into Darkness in the evenings at the moment and it looks excellent - especially during the sequences shot with IMAX cameras.

I'm sorry to learn that you were not overly thrilled with Kenya, but do understand what you're saying about the quality of image for this film. While some of the shots of the wildlife were great (especially the close up of the lion's face and eye) the image quality was downgraded slightly because the footage was all shot with digital cameras vs. 65mm negative IMAX film. Shooting wildlife with digital cameras has its benefits, but in IMAX (large format) it can have its drawbacks.

Rocky Mountain Express, Flight of the Butterflies and Shackleton's Antarctic Adventure on the other hand, were all filmed predominantly with 65mm negative and the on-screen images are superb.

Thank you again for your post and for giving me an opportunity to reply.
Kindest regards,
Paul Wild

Excellent place- who doesn't like watching nature shows on a huge screen? Unfortunately quite expensive.

Thank you for visiting us recently and more importantly for posting a review.
I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed your experience, but sorry to hear you thought it was quite expensive.
In an effort to keep the cost down we have not raised our admission prices for many years and in addition, we offer discounts for seniors, youth (6-18) and children younger than 5 and double feature discounts.
Another special offer that we have is an IMAX Victoria Annual Pass which can be used only at this location. The price is $46 plus tax and provides unlimited access to all the 45-minute documentaries for a full calendar year. The pass also includes other benefits such companion ticket discounts, a discount on museum admission, at the IMAX concession counter and at our National Geographic Store.
Once again, thank you. We do hope we have another opportunity to host you again soon.
Kindest regards,
Paul Wild

We love to go to the museum and my grandchildren always have this on their Victoria "to do" list. The IMAX visit was a bonus this time.

We saw the Kenya film that my children really enjoyed. It is very close to Parliament and other sites in the Inner Harbour. Connected to the Royal BC museum.

Thank you for leaving some comments after your recent visit.
We are indeed very fortunate to be located so close to the harbour and other things to see and do while in Victoria.
We show a variety of films on the hour so it certainly lends itself to short respite from walking or sometimes just to get out of the sunshine for a short break.
We certainly appreciate the time you took to visit our theatre.
Kindest regards,
Paul Wild

You can see IMAX movies everywhere, but my kids really enjoyed being able to walk up the street to see these shows. Fantastic theater and massive screen.
