Haterleigh Heritage Inn
Ranked #32 of 92 Victoria B&B and Inns

Ann is such a wonderful hostess for a wonderful B&B. From made to order breakfasts to the accommodations to off street parking to walking distance to major areas of interest. I made her share her homemade granola recipe with me. Travel research told us to limit our time in Victoria and spend more in Vancouver. That was a big mistake for our family. When we go back we will spend most of our time in Victoria, at the Haterleigh Inn.

Room Tip: we needed 2 beds. the upstairs arrangement worked fine. the bath is large. the nites are very quiet.

My wife and I stayed a couple nights, and were very well pleased with our host!, our accommodations, and of course, breakfast. It was simply top shelf! For example, the individual bowl of fruit to start the meal had no less than 10 fruits in it.
We had a great time visiting and getting to know our host, who is from England. Would highly recommend this to anyone.

Our two night stay was perfect. We were met with a warm welcome and made to feel at home. Our room was quiet and gorgeous and we had a very relaxing stay. Breakfast was awesome, and Ann, the inn keeper, was simply wonderful! We'd go back in a heart beat!

Arrival at the Haterleigh was a more than pleasant experience...Ideal location only a few blocks from the harbor. The Hostess Ann was very informative, friendly, and helpful in settling into gorgeous room accommodations. Comfortable and very majestic atmosphere. Breakfast was to die for experience. Food was delicious, fresh fruit cups daily, and the eggs benedict very gourmet. Also home made bread and scones. The B & B is Old Victorian elegance inside and out. Hated leaving such a quaint experience. Return visit to Haterleigh very recommended.

Two of us spent 3 nights under the care of Ann, the innkeeper, at the Haterleigh Inn. We had a very good stay thanks to an ideal Victoria location just 2 blocks from the Inner Harbor's ferry terminals. It's a 10 minute walk to the Empress Hotel and another 10 minutes to go to the opposite side of the harbor. 5 minutes in the other direction gets you to Fisherman's Wharf. The cruise ship terminal is also within easy walking distance. There's off-street parking in back.

The inn is Victorian in period and furnishings with stained glass windows everywhere you look. There's a wide and covered veranda out the front door.

We loved the spaciousness of our Day Dreams suite and the 2 person whirlpool tub. The entry area is furnished with a period fainting couch. The king-sized bed was luxurious with crisp linens, plenty of pillows and a nice warm comforter. There is plenty of room to move about.

The full breakfasts were quite a surprise. Ann's approach is "what do you want in the morning?" It doesn't matter what the other guests ask for. We had fruit bowls, OJ and scones along with scrumptious Eggs Benedict with ham for 1 of us and salmon for the other while the couples at the adjacent table had bacon, eggs, hash browns and toast. Quite unusual these days where full breakfasts are rare. This is the first time we've encountered serve-to-order. Quite lovely as Ann says quite often (she's from Britain with feet planted in Texas, Washington and Victoria).

As a nice place to stay, I'd rate the Haterleigh tops. On top of that, it's a fantastic value.

Room Tip: Day Dreams is on the ground floor on the street side. It's a very quiet street.

I booked a last minute, one night stay and wished that I could have moved in permanently!

The Haterleigh is a majestic home that offers the warmest welcome you could ever imagine. When you meet Ann, you'll see why! Her breakfasts are gourmet; jams and granola homemade, impeccable table settings and charming touches everywhere. That is, if you can take your eyes off your breakfast plate. My poached egg was perfect; just the way I like it. My table-mates had thick, fluffy French toast with their choice of four syrup flavours (!) and a side of crisp bacon. Another couple had scrambled eggs with cheese (cheddar, emmenthal or feta) and of course all served with brewed coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice and a side plate of hand-made chocolate and a delicious flaky pastry. YUM.

I stayed in the Roses and Lace room with its own large soaker tub and a bed that gave me the best night's sleep I'd had in a very long time. Haterleigh is just a short stroll to the heart of Victoria's wonderful waterfront, Empress Hotel and picturesque Parliament Buildings.

This place is a find, and after you stay, you'll be telling all your friends to go there too!

Haterleigh is truly a "5" Star Bed & Breakfast... It's a MUST stay in Victoria BC! Our family visited there recently & it couldn't have been better:) Ann, the innkeeper is just AWESOME and makes you feel so at home! She is a amazing person to get to know and a wonderful cook. I would recommend Haterleigh B&B to any of my friends or family making a trip to Victoria....

Room Tip: Any of the bedrooms are great! Beautiful Home with such character....
