We spent three nights and the only thing I would have changed is we stayed longer! From requesting a ground floor room to special requests at breakfast, the hotel staff were always very accommodating and prompt fulfilling our requests. The library/study always had tea and coffee available as well as a large array of magazines, books and local news and periodicals to choose from. There is also a full bar to make a night cap or two that you can charge to your room for a reasonable price. The made to order breakfast menu changes daily and the service was spot on, but in a relaxed manner. The front desk was quick to explain a map of the surrounding area and give wonderful suggestions to nearby restaurants and stores. It's tucked away at the end of a quite street, but within walking distance to the main downtown area and ferry terminal. I would definitely recommend this bed and breakfast to couples or families (such as myself) with grown children looking to get away and explore Victoria.

It's extraordinary for a bed and breakfast. More appropriate to an unusually friendly but professional first class hotel. Even the tea offerings were first class. The library bar offers mixed drinks, beer and wine, the rooms are impeccable (decorated with a bit of the gilt and baubles appropriate to a Victorian town - but not too much), beds and linens excellent, fireplaces galore, including some real ones, fun huge tubs and rain showers, excellent breakfasts, hors d'oeuvres at 5, and smokes and service to beat the best hotels. Un succes fou!

Returned for our annual three-night stay. We were warmly greeted, our rooms were perfect and meticulously clean, breakfast and appies were awesome. We had planned to visit the Butchart Gardens that evening however one of the wheels on my mother's walker broke. The staff took the initiative to phone around to find a nearby walker rental place, printed a map to the store's location, and called the store to let them know I was on my over to rent a walker. Waaaay beyond the call of duty. I can't thank them enough. The staff are the most commendable part of this amazing hotel.

Room Tip: The room on the main floor is food for people who have difficulty with stairs.

We spent 3 nights here and had a lovely visit. Thank you trip advisor! We were warmly greeted when we arrived and introduced to this wonderful hotel. Fireplaces were lighted and glowing. Our room was just as pictured - finding the fur blanket on the bed was a delight. Even 2 suitcase stands. We had some of the appetizers in the lounge area and then got a list of places fir dinner. Breakfast was a delight - the chef even made egg less french toast for my husband and some eggs for me. Our room was a bit warm for us, so we cooled it down the next day by opening the window and turning down the heat while we were out - worked great. Could have used some shelf space in the bathroom. Would return.

A wonderful and delightful stay. We stayed 3 nights and the service was outstanding! The complimentary breakfast each morning was different and delicious. The appetizers served in the evening were remarkable. Everything is clean and tidy. As it was winter and close to the holidays, the hotel was festively decorated and cozy. A great stay and wonderful people!

We've stayed here a couple of times and keep coming back. Best place by far to stay in Victoria. From the wine before supper to the morning breakfast, it was just superb. We stayed in one of suite rooms and it was just fantastic. Anyone travelling to Victoria, you must try and stay here.
