“Easier than doing this in the US”

We were surprised by the limited obtrusive security, and were able to get in while politicians were going about their business. There is a self-guided tour available at no charge, and there is a lot of historical information to learn about in the building. The architecture is impressive with some very interesting artifacts.

“Gorgeous day and night”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013 via mobile

The cruise ship didn't arrive to Victoria till 8:15 and shops closed at 9:00. Downtown was breathtaking. It was clean and gorgeous flowers all around. The parliament was lit up and it made me smile. I spoke with a resident and she said the city puts extra green and red light on during Christmas time. She said its something they all look forward to.

“Nice tour and nice building”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2013

It was drizzling when we arrived in Victoria so we decided to take a tour of the Parliament Buildings. The lady was very knowledgable and plenty of time to take pictures. It is a lovely building inside, I especially liked all the stained glass.
Nice to be allowed in such buildings without all the massive security too, not like here :)

Oh and make sure you go back and have a look at night time, it is all lit up like Blackpool illuminations!

“Very friendly free tours”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2013

We went here with our 8 and 11 year old kids to see what another govt is like. I even learned a lot. Don't miss this beautiful building with a long architectural history. Besides the free tours of the building they have entertaining actors and actresses who perform in character as Queen Victoria or the architect who designed the building. Very entertaining but informative.

“great buildings, but quick visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2013

To visit parliament buildings, you have to take a free guided tour, and it takes 25 minutes - half an hour.
The tour is interesting, with the queen Victoria herself...
Maybe some rudeness from security because apparently you cannot take 2 minutes to take pictures... but not a big deal
I found the building more beautiful outside than inside, but it's just my opinion...
