“Informative and good photos”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

We enjoyed doing the self-guided tour - you just get a book and walk around. Plenty of information, and lots of good photo ops. They light it up at night, and that is very beautiful. They do a decent job of incorporating some First Nation's history and artifacts, but mostly the art and architecture center around British history and Victoria's connection to the British crown. Cool stained glass windows all over. We enjoyed doing this the day we arrived - it was a nice introduction to the city.

“A lovely building”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

We did the 17:00 tour which was the last of the day. The architecture was typical of the period and well maintained. The young lady tour guide was excellent and took on any questions thrown at her. What a joy to see a painting of our queen proudly on display. An interesting item was a stained glass window made for Queen Victoria which was only found recently and is now on display.

If you are looking to take picture, he is the building to do so. Nice during the day and at night all the edges are lit with lights.

“Meet Queen Victoria”
Reviewed June 19, 2013

Took the tour of the parliament buildings with a very nice young guide who explained so much and it was clever to have Queen Victoria meet us during the tour. A very nice free experience in Victoria.

“Yup, everyone is right, the free tour really is awesome!”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

As you can see from our past review history, we have been on a lot of free as well as paid tours. This ranks right up near the top. The guide was awesome and very knowledgeable, and the surprise guests who pop in throughout are so much fun and they really bring context to the gravity of this historical building.

If you do one thing during your stay, this should definitely be it.
