Description: A stylish sophisticated urban lounge in the heart of downtown Victoria, Veneto is the ideal place to unwind with co-workers and friends. Adorned in exotic wood, leather and Italian marble, Veneto seduces patrons with its extensive cocktail menu and its savoury offerings from our chef. Every entree is presented tapas style and comprised of three unique dishes within the entree. Our executive chef Tod Bosence has designed flavours that are unique yet complimentary, and that provide an engaging taste experience, ideal for sharing. Veneto's bartenders led by Simon Ogden, display their knowledge and passion with a classically inspired cocktail list. Fresh squeezed citrus, only top shelf spirits and exacting techniques. Veneto offers its patrons a small but significant wine selection, both by bottle and by the glass. We specialize in North American Craft beer as well as boast the largest selection of bourbons in the city.

“Great for a drink at the bar”
Reviewed December 16, 2013

The bartenders here are quite experimental and skilled. It is always an experience at Veneto. Burnt Rosemary, blowtorched lemon peel, absinthe sprays, it is experimental cocktail heaven. I used to live close by here and it was an easy stop- sometimes too easy. However, the food is an afterthought. And I really hope they eventually kick it up a couple notches to match the drinks. To me this is a bar, I go here before and after going for dinner elsewhere.

“Friendly Upscale!”
Reviewed December 5, 2013

Simon's 'The Bruce' is the cocktail I had at the sit up bar. What a delicious, fresh and flavour layered upscale drink. Delicious. Fun to sit and watch the creations being made. Had the fish tacoes as an appy and they were fine. Very much enjoyed the banter of bartenders, Simon and Sam. This is a great place for a couple, a business group or a single. Truly an upscale experience with friendly staff.

“Fun, Fab and Great Value”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

My wife and I went to Veneto to find out what all the buzz was about and would go again in a heartbeat. The food was playful and creative, the atmosphere was lively and our server knew what she was doing -- very helpful, not obtrusive and full of great suggestions. This is not a quiet restaurant; this is a place to enjoy, chat, laugh a lot, occasionally listen in on others' conversations and generally kick back. The drink suggestions are a highlight, even offering a Spin the Wheel option where you can mix and match a bunch of drink ideas and their mixolotgists will come up with something just for you. The restaurant shines in the many, many small-plates options -- this is tapa bar, after all. But please be warned...the tapas are substantial and every one we had was a winner -- from the wedge salad, the bruschettas, the lobster and blue crab dip -- and on it goes. Come, sample, drink interesting drinks and enjoy Veneto. I was impressed. Oh, one final note: my wife and I are in our 60's and just about everyone was younger than we were. But it didn't matter at all.

“Great setting, wonderful food, great drinks - what more is there”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

We have stayed at the Rialto several times and never eaten at the restaurant. It was a mistake. The Veneto is a tapas type bar. It is a lovely setting, very warm and cool. The bartender made our daughter an awesome drink (spin the wheel choice) and she dubbed it the best cocktail ever. We of course, don't really drink but the wine list was very good and reasonable for its price. The food was wonderful. We have 3 dishes, brussels sprouts - outstanding, couldn't make them better myself and a huge dish. A lettuce wrap, very tasty and excellent size and tempura vegetables, also wonderful. I ordered a slider (4$) also outstanding. It was enough food for 3 of us (granted we aren't big eaters) but very very reasonable. Overall just a delightful place. The servers are excellent too.
