“Peaceful and friendly stay.”
Reviewed July 16, 2012

My husband, 9 year old son and I enjoyed Lorraine's hospitality for five days just before Christmas, while visiting my mom in Esquimalt (part of Victoria near the B&B). We had a lovely room just right for the three of us, and it was nice to come and go as we pleased. The food was excellent, and the service was impeccable. Nice hot pots of tea were always on tap, and the kitchenette was always available for us to make a quick snack or a drink. The value for money was great, and although this home-style B&B might not suit every 'gold standard' traveller, the B&B seemed to cater well to every other kind of traveller.

Room Tip: Lorraine is very helpful and will suggest the perfect room for your needs if you contact her.

We we greeted warmly with freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Then we stayed two nights at this cozy, quaint cottage within walking distance of two parks along the water, and short drive into the city. We enjoyed simple accomodations that were very clean and very comfortable. The best part of all, however, was our frienly host and the hearty breakfasts she served. Besides the ample breakfasts, we were directed to a fantastic whale-watching experience that was out of this world. We were delighted with the suggestions and ideas for places to go around the city as well. If you decide to stay at Cottage Pirouette, be sure to request the yummy oatmeal with nuts! Best oatmeal I've ever eaten.

Room Tip: Very quiet neighborhood, so I don't think any rooms would be noisy. Some rooms have their own b...

My wife and I loved our stay at Lorraine's B & B! The breakfasts were delicious and bountiful. Every morning we lingered over the good food (pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, yogurt, cereal, and more) while having interesting conversations with fellow travelers from all over. We slept well in the Daffodil room, which has a very comfortable bed. Our lovely host, Lorraine, was very friendly and helpful and generously shared both her knowledge about the area and herself. Homemade cookies filled the cookie jar every day. We stayed for three nights last August and would happily return.

This was a great choice over the standard hotel experience. Homemade breakfast each morning. A host that provided a lot of information about the city. Great guests. This is a nice way to meet people around the globe and talk about life experiences. It is not a 5 star hotel, it is a very homey/casual environment that adds flavor to your vacation. I would choose this over a hotel any time.

The service and hospitality was great. The bed was extremely comfortable, room in good repair, and it felt like home after a long day of touring around. We'll be going back there given the chance.

Room Tip: Be sure to book early.

My mom and I stayed at Cottage Pirouette for 8 nights. Location of this B&B is very convenient, bus stop was just outside the house. There are also 2 beautiful parks close to the house. Our host Loraine is very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed having traditional Canadian breakfast and meeting new people every morning. We stayed at Rose room, which has view at back garden. It was very pleasant to fall asleep listening to the fountain. Thank you, Loraine!

P.S. Please say hello to Toast and Jam ;)

On August 17, 2011, our family of four spent the night at Cottage Pirouette. We had traveled from Texas, and our daughters had joined us from Seattle. We were all very impressed. We had 2 bedrooms and shared a bath. The bedrooms were neat, clean and attractive; the bathroom was large, convenient and delightfully decorated. There was an information packet on the bed. The location made finding a place for supper very easy. The next morning we were awakened by the sounds and smells of a delicious breakfast. We were shown into the "small" dining room where we shared a table with a delightful couple from Maryland. Lorraine was indeed a perfect hostess. She showered us with sausages, thick slices of bread and homemade jam, eggs, cranberry juice and coffee or tea. Just as things were cooling off, Lorraine would pop in with a bit of conversation and warm refills for the containers on the table. My favorite part of our stay was being able to sit and enjoy listening to our daughters play the guitar and piano after breakfast. What a great idea to have them available for the guests. Although we didn't have an occasion to use it, there was also an inviting living room available for sitting and visiting. Before we left, I wandered around outside taking pictures of the landscape and especially of the flowers. Lorraine was working outside making things look even neater, and I enjoyed visiting with her while we were both occupied in our own pursuits. I would highly recommend Cottage Pirouette and hope we are able to enjoy another visit in the future.

Thank you for sending in a review! Your photos are wonderful, and we appreciate the time you've taken in posting them. We enjoyed hearing your daughters play the piano and guitar in what we call Dining Room B, where there is seating for 6. That room also features the guest-use kitchenette, with fridge, coffee-maker, kettle and microwave. The other dining room has seating for 8. We look forward to serving you again in the future, and as I continue to work in the garden, there will be new things for you to photograph.
