“Burns Night 2014”
Reviewed January 28, 2014

B&B is part of a chain (Penny Farthing on Oak Bay Ave., and Irish Times on Govt St) and we visited each with our pipe band to entertain the clients with Burns/Scottish music, pipe the haggis in, and address the haggis in verse Last venue was B&B where we had refreshments and dinner. They had Innis and Gunn draft ale from Scotland, which wasn't particularly outstanding, but it was gratis. The haggis was OK but basically prepared sausage-style rather than sheep's stomach. Sticky toffee and ice cream dessert definitely good, Guests were lapping up the atmosphere.

Stopped by with friends for drinks and nibbles. Early evening so not busy, service, drinks, food and atmosphere just fine. Feel free to drop in and enjoy.

If you have been to the Bard and Banker you will appreciate the atmosphere. Sure it is a bit pricey but where else can you have an atmosphere of a world class pub. We enjoyed bag pipe music during the last visit. Great place for a celebrartion

“Fresh food”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

Tried the cremini mushroom poutine and mussels for lunch over the holidays. Very yummy and fresh. Some of the best mussels we've had. Drinks were great as well. Nice to see quite a few bourbons on offer in addition to their whiskey collection. Service was very friendly and the atmosphere was warm and cosy.

“18 months later - still raving!”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

On our summer 2012 (the review would not let me select 2012, as it has been a while, but I felt I must review!) Alaska cruise, my husband and I stopped by to sample local beer during a port stop. We had an appetizer which was basically a plate of Fried BBQ Balls. We are US Southerners where almost everything can be tried fried, but this was new to us. We absolutely love it! The beer was great and service was friendly. I am a banker by profession, and really enjoyed the atmosphere of drinking beer in an old bank - something I can't do at the "historic" bank building where I now work. The building was beautiful. I definitely suggest searching this place out and spending an hour inside for a great meal and good beer.
