“Fresh noodles with traditional twist”
Reviewed July 28, 2012

This is a traditional Chinese restaurant (we had to ask for forks!). If you like traditional food, you will like this place. It's a quaint restaurant just a few blocks away from the hotel we were staying at. You can see the noodles being made from scratch and it's about a 15 minute wait. It's decently priced, too.

“Authentic noodles”
Reviewed July 4, 2012

We stayed in this neighborhood for three days and went to this noodle house twice. They serve the northern style Chinese noodle that we are used to having while in China. We got the beef dao xiao mian and we were very impressed. The noodles are freshly made and the spice used is authentic. The only downside is that the vegetable dishes we ordered were on the salty side.

“Tasty, Affordable, Generous Portions”
Reviewed July 3, 2012

This is a very quaint and affordable restaurant within walking distance of various downtown hotels, such as the Westin Bayshore. We ordered one of the medium spicy noodle bowls for $8.00 each, and we were very pleasantly surprised. The portion was extremely generous and more than enough for me (my husband was happy to finish off my bowl). It was spiced perfectly, medium hot at the high end of medium - very tasty!

Our server was polite, and the food was ready within 15 minutes.

If you enjoy traditional Chinese food, then definitely give this restaurant a try.

“Fresh, made before your eyes and well-presented.”
Reviewed July 2, 2012

It's a place to go on a rainy night or after a walk on the Sea Wall.
The service is great. Noodles made before your eyes and subtle tastes compliment the fresh home-style food. Well-priced. Suitable for couples, friends, families.

“Absolutely Fantastic”
Reviewed June 11, 2012

Our first impression was, "Wow, this is a small place on Denham St.," easy to miss. One thing is for sure, if you miss eating at LN, you will miss a very special opportunity to enjoy hand crafted noodles like no other place in the world. I'm not a local, and I don't know much about local reviews of this place, but one thing I do know is great food when I find it, and LN has great food...no...world class legendary food. What's important to note is LN makes all of it's noodles fresh. For the visitor, all of the cooking staff is within view, and in particular "the noodle guy" is front and center. One gets the impression of a master noodle-maker as he quickly kneeds the dough, stretches it, chops it, & tosses it into the cooking pot. Now for someone who has never had fresh noodles, the gap between these and pre-packaged noodles is considerable. So much so that one quickly realizes upon tasting them, that they are the main act of each dish, a special treat in a class with a well-cooked steak, or fresh lobster. Coming from a guy who loves meat this says a lot. These noodles are good enough to be served in a bowl of warm water but for the lucky restauranteur the experience doesn't end there. All varieties of traditional Chinese spice and flavor (even a little Thai) along with pork, beef, chicken, or shrimp are found on the menu with the option to mix and match, & it's hard to go wrong regardless of your order. What's instantly impressive is the quality of how these tastes are blended together reaching a delicate plateau between too much and too little, a place which is universal to good food, and which foodies will appreciate to the highest degree. Made from the same dough, the dumpling appetizer that started our meal practically melted in our mouths & should not be missed. All of this at a cost that averages $10-$12/person!
