Amazing oysters, muscles & crab - best I have ever had & wonderful atmosphere! We enjoyed our meal and night out a lot, but dinner for 2 with one glass of wine for 1 of us came to $120 - which is more understandable being seafood but still seems extortionate to me!

Rodney's Oyster Bar was anything but busy when we decided to visit. It was midweek and the night was wet and rainy. But it had this entrance which invited curiosity and there was no obvious sign that it was in fact, a restaurant. Upon entry the restaurant appeared to be very inviting and funky. Different. As it turned out it was part of a Canadian franchise and the staff wore gross T shirts with politically incorrect statements emblazoned upon them. I do not think we would have stayed if I had been able to read these T shirts properly before sitting. But in every other respect the venue held up and the food was reasonably priced and the staff were friendly. We should have had the Oysters!! Why visit an Oyster Bar and not order the oysters? But we chose Lobster. This restaurant is good value compared to other venues in Vancouver (Gastown). The Lobster dish was fine and the chips were superb. Also the service was attentive. But I cannot believe that a restaurant serves wine in tumblers! This restaurant is fine if you just want a busy, noisy, fun night out with friends but don't take anything at this venue too seriously.

Nice evening meal at Rodney's in Gas Town area of Vancouver. Great selection of Oysters with Rodney's providing a unique selection of seafood/hot sauces to accompany them. The sides that accompanied the main courses we had were pretty limited, but extra options available.Fun, casual atmosphere, servers were very knowledgable about the multiple of oysters offered, some domestic and some from the US. Highly recomended.Nice evening.

We tried going here on a Friday night during our recent trip to Vancouver. There was a 1.5 hour wait, so opted not to wait and try again another day. We returned Sunday and were not disappointed.

Excellent oysters!

Sit at the bar at this lively fun eatery. Super hunky good looking, mostly male, cooks, shuckers, and bartenders are boisterous and entertaining. They use these small glasses for drinks, and pour to the very top. My friend and I decided to call this pour the "Cleavage Pour" because the glasses are so full, you have to bend down to slurp the first sip so that you won't spill it. This way the boys behind the counter get a little peep show. All in good fun. The oysters were fresh and the sauces they served with them were all delicious and varied from tangy and mild to spicy hot. Fresh horseradish is shredded by hand and served on the platters along with lemon wedges. The mussels were large and juicy with a briny salty broth- very good. We considered this place more of an early dinner/snack, and because it was right by our hotel (Opus) we frequented it before dinner.
