“good food but poor service”
Reviewed November 7, 2013

Four of us recently went to Ciao Bella for good Italian food. We had heard that it was top notch and a great atmosphere. We made reservations. However, knowing we would be 15 minutes late, we let them know and they said "not to worry." But when we got there (which was when we said we would), they had let our table go. We had to wait around for more than an hour at an outside patio table. When we finally arrived at our table, our orders were very late in coming and they managed to get the orders all mixed up, Fawlty Towers style. I must say that the food was good and the atmosphere was very nice. But the poor service left a bad taste in our four mouths.

“Great Pasta”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

We came for an early dinner, because we had read that it can become very crowded. We came on a Monday evening, and all pasta selections were half price. I ordered the Penne Putanesca, and my wife ordered the Seafood Ravioli. Due to mix up, she got the Lasagne, which was a lucky mistake for her, because it was the best she ever had! We would got back again, but on their half-price nights, as the menu prices seem high.

If you love pasta and good wine and you don't want to spend a fortune in Vancouver.... head over to this restaurant...it is small quaint and the staff are attentive and always smiling...! Monday and Tuesday half price pasta.... Go for it! The place was packed with people waiting to get in....

“Good food, but noisy”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

WE saw the reviews and awards on the door and noticed a fair amount of customers inside so figured it must be good. And it was! The food was tasty and ample. The downside was the volume of noise was so much that we had to huddle to talk. The owner himself waited on us, suggesting favorites. The tables could be a bit larger too as the glassware had to be rearranged to accomodate incoming plates.
We were vacationing in a B and B. Otherwise, we would have taken up his offer of doggie bagging the remainder of our meal.

“Very good food plus Entertainment”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

Love this little restaurant. Ambiance plus entertainment. Innovative combination of food and fun. This place is not overcrowded and although very busy, you are still kept intimate in your own space. Impressive food and friendly service...
