The Eatery known for serving sushi roll combinations that are interesting, alternative and tasty, is a long time Vancouver establishment located on the edge of the Kitsilano neighbourhood. Any of the sushi rolls are good as well as the chicken karage. The service is at time slow, partly due to heavy volumes of customers and orders, particularly Friday and Saturday evenings.

Waiting in line to get a seat, a sign above the doorway reads "Miso Hungry" that is a heads up for this funky place with fun decorations including a large model of astro boy above the counter.
If you are with a couple of friends, it is easier and more fun to order a large size share plate such as The Last Samurai! Fresh and delicious either with Gekkeikan sake, a Sea Breeze or beer.
Must go back soon to The Eatery to try more of the menu. Service is fast and friendly.

A truly unique eating/sushi experience in so many ways, from the name to the clientele to Randy the owner! This is sushi at it's funkiest best. There are lots of interesting sushi combinations and all at fantastic value. Randy the owner is a mid 40's wanting to be mid 20's and he really does pull it off. If you are confused on what to order, Randy or one of the staff, will gladly make all the decisions for you. The patrons are either UBC students or young Kits hipsters which make it all the more fun. Should not be missed if you are looking for something a little out of the ordinary.
Highly recommended!

Love, love, love The Eatery! A colleague took us there for dinner, and it was fantastic. The ambiance, the menu (WOW, I've never seen such creativity) and the service were excellent. The only thing was the lighting, which was a bit low with only the candlelight on the tables...
Overall, would definitely return! The fried yams are a definite must-try...
