What wonderful cozy decor. The Bistro is hidden in a neighborhood setting. At first we thought we were lost. Once inside, we enjoyed the privacy on being able to spend the time on us and not being rushed. The setting was romantic and the food was exquisite. The service was on our beck and call and very friendly but not intrusive. Would rerun there again, if given the opportunity.

This restaurant was chosen because it was steps from the Rosellen Suites where we stayed. The food was okay, the service was average, and the decor needs an upgrade. We weren't disappointed, but it was nothing special.

There was a group of 11 of us celebrating a milestone birthday, so we decided to sample all but three of their appetizers. Great idea. Everthing was wonderful from the Proseco, to the appetizers, to the mains, and we enjoyed some wine as well. Well worth the trip from the burbs!

My friend and I picked this restaurant for my final night in Vancouver after reading a number of reviews and narrowing it down from 4 other options. I had spent 3 weeks away with him in Bamfield, devoid of the luxuries of a tv or restaurants. Mind you we had a continuous supply of fresh seafood, something that is not missed between two seafood and steak lovers. Hence we settled on Adesso opposed to Gotham, the culinary school or Blue water that were specialty restaurants.

The initial impression of the place seemed nice, a little gem tucked away in the west end. the outdoor area was perfect and had gas heaters available for later in the evening. The decor suited appropriately and the staff well presented, friendly and accommodating. They were also well versed on the menu and provided the necessary recommendations without hesitation.

The martinis and wine selection were nice, however we ventured further with an Old fashioned and having drunk these around the world would not recommend having one here again.

The entrees of mussels and seafood were pleasant, generous, fresh and light - perfect for a summer evening.
Between the 4 of us we had three different mains chicken, veal and pasta. In comparison these were only just larger than the entrees. Warm plates and better timing would have also helped. The quality of the main was good but failed to impress to the same standard as the service or the entrees, nor the impression i received from previous reviews.

I am still puzzled by Vancouver based restaurants as they seem to battle coming to grips with the conundrum of quantity vs quality and matching this with a respectable price seeming to either undercut themselves or overprice themselves significantly???

The service, fresh focaccia, entrees and dessert made up for a lackluster main meals and Old fashioned, however i believe 3.5 stars would be appropriate for the holistic experience.

I traveled to the Buchan Hotel with a friend and we were very pleased with the atached resteraunt. We closed it down three nights in a row and couldn't have been happier. The bartender,Patrick, and the owners were very friendly and spent most of the nights talking with us extensively.

The pricing was great in comparison to the area as a whole and the food even better. I would definetely recommend visiting this place.
