“Unbelievably Good - An Absolute Must”
Reviewed January 1, 2008

If you're visiting Vancouver, you should do everything possible to eat at Vij's. The food is fantastic and the restaurant's atmosphere is a perfect match. The wait can be grueling and they don't take reservations. Waits of two hours plus are not uncommon. If the wait sounds intolerable (they do a great job of making the wait pleasant with a nice bar area and snacks that get passed around) - try showing up 15 to 30 minutes before opening time. Of Vij's, The New York Times says, "Easily among the finest Indian Restaurants of the World". Food and Wine says, "I don't know when I last fell so instantly in love with a restaurant". The food is really sublime. Vij blends all the wonders of Indian cuisine, and seasonal ingredients from the region to create new dishes (ex: "Lamb Popsicles") that you just can't afford to miss. You may never eat this well again.
