“Omakase!”
Reviewed January 16, 2014

Do not hesitate for a second, have the Omakase and let Tojo decide what you eat. We LOVED the choices he made, excellent fish, delicate flavors and excellent service. Tojo himself gives the final touches to every dish and still agrees to take a picture with you at the end of the meal. Superb!

“Average food but high end prices”
Reviewed December 16, 2013

The food was not bad, we ate at the counter and the head chef prepared some of our dishes, good quality but slightly overpriced, the kind of place to visit once in a while to impress a guest

“Omakase is the way to go”
Reviewed November 14, 2013

This was my third time at Tojo and it won't be my last. As always, Tojo demonstrated why his restaurant is still so popular after all these years.

We saw other people ordering a la carte but, honestly, you will miss the best of Tojo's creativity if you don't go with the Omakase (chef's choice) menu. It's definitely not cheap - it starts at $80 per person and goes up from there. But every bite of every dish was superb. And many dishes were totally surprising combinations of flavours and textures.

If you're looking for a "sushi bar" - go somewhere else. Not that Tojo's sushi is bad - it's not, in fact it's excellent. But if you only eat the sushi, you'll miss what makes this place so special.

Service was incredibly friendly and helpful. Wine and Sake list is extensive. Can't recommend Tojo's highly enough.

“"Expensive, yes. Worth it? Definitely"”
Reviewed November 1, 2013

We live on the West Coast and have eaten sushi all over California and Vancouver, and no one can top the sushi at Tojo's. No question that it's expensive, but the fish is so fresh and beautifully prepared that (for me) it's worth the price. If you go, you have to try Tojo's special tuna sashimi. And if you really want to splurge, sit at the bar and have the tasting menu. I've read some of the other reviews on TA and was surprised that people had disappointing meals here. I can only speak from my experience and my half-dozen meals at Tojo's have been first class.

“Good but very pricey”

Interesting selection and very good preparation . You could taste the freshness. The menu is a bit expensive for what you get
