Recently had lunch with a friend. We ordered from the lunch menu, Pad Thai, Gai Pad Namman, spring rolls. We enjoyed our lunch, portions were enough, well presented and quite tasty. Service was attentive and efficient. Cost with tip was $25 in total. I wouldn't say it was the best Thai food in town, but I've always found it quite good here.

We came across this gem while strolling down Robson. It was a saturday night around 7, and you can't see inside the second floor location from the street where the display menu was located. After climbing the narrow stairway, we entered a bustling, packed restaurant.

We started with the four piece chicken satay with peanut sauce and picked cucumber relish. It was very tasty, and followed promptly with pad thai and gai pad bai grapau. Portions are large and uber flavourable. Servers were prompt and attentive. There's a reason this place was so full on a Saturday night.

I fondly remember lunches at this place some years ago when I worked in Yaletown and was generally quite satisfied back then. Dinner this evening was quite another matter. The portions were pretty small for the price and my duck red curry was OK. There was duck alright, but very little in the way of vegetables and a few pieces of something that resembled gooey over-cooked noodles. Something authentically ethnic perhaps. But then there was the insult to our culinary intelligence trying pass off a cup of quite ordinary plain rice as "coconut rice" and charging accordingly for it. There wasn't a trace of coconut flavour. When we commented, they lied to us about it.
Now we know why this place was mostly empty on a Friday night when all around there were bustling restaurants.
Lunches might still be good; I don't work in Yaletown anymore to try. But everyone should continue to avoid this place for dinner.

The food was really good (especially the squid!); however, we kept getting interrupted by the staff to see how we were doing. The over-enthusiastic staff kept coming every 5 minutes, sometimes just looking at us and not talking. By the end of our meal, my colleague and I were getting irritated. It's nice that the staff wants to make sure everything is alright but this was really excess and neither of us felt comfortable. I usually experience the reverse problem. Strange and distracting, we never got to fully enjoy our meal.
