The eggs Bennie are Great! My wife and I were staying in walking distance to the restaurant. We wanted a good place for Breakfast. This place filled our needs. Walking through the doors you feel like you are going back in time, great decor, great service, and great food for a reasonable price. Their menu had a good selection to meet most of your needs. I would recommend this place for a great place to start your day.

Ah! The Sunshine Diner!
Takes me back to the days I went to the local high school nearby in the 60's and it has been in the area for almost as long.
First the decor! Totally funky! Imagine a life size statue of Marilyn Monroe and Elvis greeting you at the door? Red leather booths to sit in, black and white tiles on the floor, a jukebox playing 50's and 60's music and black and white photos of movie stars abound. A trip down memory lane for sure!
Now for the Eggs Benny! Divine! Eggs Florentine and the Salmon Benny just as good.
And the hollandaise sauce a real treat! Take a jog afterwards!
We always love going for breakfast or brunch the best. Great for all age groups , babies to seniors!
And such a happy atmosphere!
If you are there on a Sunday in the summer take a walk over to the Kits Farmers Market close by.
Makes for a lovely morning outing.

There is nothing wrong with this place per se. It is a bit over the top trying to be a 50's style diner, but that's the theme so it is to be expected. The breakfast menu is what one would expect with a good selection of eggs, pancakes and eggs benedict. At nearly $3 per cup, the coffee was priced high for what I would describe as average quality java. Overall, not bad but nothing special either.

This has to be one of the best places for breakfast, brunch or lunch in Vancouver. 50's diner style decor is kitsch done right, giving this restaurant an authentic charm. It calls patrons back over and over again. Once you're through the door, you feel that vibe right away.
Food is terrific, fuels and fills you up for the rest of the day, tasty and satisfying. I particularly love their Eggs Romero Benny for brunch, but the sandwiches are quite fabulous too.
Service is superb, efficient, pleasant and friendly. In fact, this place exudes friendliness.
We took American friends here for lunch once.Their overall experience was enhanced by childhood memories growing up in the USA. It hit the right note in other words.
It even reminds me of a coffee shop, popular in the town near where I lived, in North Wales. It too was 50's style and everyone loved it. From this, it seems to me, folks can't get enough of that brand of nostalgia. So, if you want some, this is definitely the place to find it, so get yourself over to the north side of W. Broadway, just east of Macdonald St. You can't miss Marilyn & Elvis out front!

This is our local breakfast/brunch place. The atmosphere, attentive service is wonderful, always say Hi and ask how things are, quick to get seated and table ready for you. Water and drinks come quickly and never rush you to decide. The owner often walks by and asks how things are (friendly guy for sure). A little more expensive for a basic breakfast but the setting and service makes up for it, good selection for meals and flexible on tastes. Always busy but worth the wait - great in the summer to sit in the outdoor space. We need more of such places in Vancouver. Always consistent and friendly.
