Went with 4 others to Provence after an absence of some time and really enjoyed the food and the service. Our table started with a plate of 5 antipasti and the table's conclusion was plate licking good. In fact, we asked the server not to remove the plate before she brought more bread so we could mop it up. We had an eggplant canelloni (excellent); Moroccan meatballs (wonderflly spiced); tomato boconcini (dressing was just right); grilled squid (a favourite) and one which escapes me at the moment. Everyone would have had more, but
The main courses did not disappoint. I had a rack of lamb which was wonderfully pink with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The beef tenderloin was great except the sauce was considered too salty. The bouillabaise and the prawns did not disappoint.
Desert including a lemon tart (tart with a hazelnut crust), a special bread pudding desert that everyone enjoyed.
Service was unobtrusive. I think I often don't consider Provence because I have experienced as too noisy. Difficult to talk when you didn't want a bistro. I think it is much improved although still somewhat of an issue.
