Whenever I go to Vancouver I make a point of having dinner at La Crocodile which has been around a long time time now. The food, service and wine list are truly excellent and I have never ever been disappointed. A wonderful dining experience which I heartily recommend

Terrific French menu - expensive, but excellent food. Wait staff was courteous and helpful. Would return to this restaurant.

We hadn't been to Le Crocodile for almost 20 years. Our "big evening" restaurant has been Don Francesco for many years. We thought we would try Le Crocodile, which has had a great reputation for years as one of the top dining experiences in Vancouver.

It was a birthday meal for my wife. We made reservations, came right on time and waited for about 20 minutes for our table. We were surprised at the length of the wait at 8:45 pm!

The room is very handsome and was decked out tastefully for Christmas. We ordered a nice bottle of wine and then ordered our meal. Each course was very beautifully presented.

We split a shrimp and lobster fettuccine entrée as an appetizer. A very generous portion of the seafood... but the sauce was bland, a first indication of the style of rest of the meal.

My wife's entrée, the rack of lamb was delivered barely warm. The portion was too small and came as 4 thinly cut chops not a "rack" as we are used to. She ordered them pink and they came too well done, not seasoned enough... almost tasteless. She sent it back and it came out a few minutes later more warm, but more done of course.

I had a double veal chop nicely cooked .... but also bland.
The shoestring potatoes were excellent as well as the french fries that came with the meal.

Our server was excellent and kept on top of things all through the dinner.

The restaurant delivered to the table a couple comps which was a nice surprise. There was a shrimp tart, that only tasted of pepper.... an indication of the rest of the dinner?

All in all we were quite shocked at the mediocre tastes.... is French cuisine supposed to be this bland? Who was in the kitchen that evening? ...we have made a lot of French dishes over the years ourselves and when done correctly, taste very delicious.

We won't be going back.... sorry Mister Crock!!

At a meeting out west. Group of 7. Round table which was excellent. Waitress was very good. She was energetic and knew the menu with the specials very well. Sea Bass and sable fish very popular and very good. Well presented. Wines good. Service excellent

Thoroughly enjoyed the evening. On time for our reservation, we were sat promptly. Service was attentive without being cloying. As appetizers, My wife ordered the Lobster "Tempura" and Grilled Scallops while I ordered a pan-seared foie gras; both were generous portions and tasty. We both had the Dover Sole with Beurre Blanc - think Sole Menieure; very nice.

Menu is large with an even larger selection of specials, but does not appear to be vegetarian friendly (which should not be a surprise).

Will be back, but probably not too frequently, as it is expensive.
