“Great fish and chips”
Reviewed September 14, 2013

I arrived to Vancouver after 11 hours long trip from Europe. I stayed at Shangri La hotel. I was tired and quite hungry. The Joe Fortes was a bingo! Not so far from the hotel, the food is great, very pleasant staff. It seems to be a good start for my Canadian holiday. I can highly recommend this place.

“Gotta Eat Here”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

We stopped here for Sunday brunch riight after we arrived in tow & were lucky enough to be seated on the rooftop. We had one of the best brunches we've ever had & will definitely have dinner here before we head back home.

“Beautiful restaurant with great food and service!”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

This is a beautiful restaurant with amazing food and excellent service. We sat on the rooftop patio for a late dinner and we were so impressed. Even the oil for dipping the bread was incredible...it contained lobster oil, which I've never had before, and it was to die for! All of their food is exceptional. I would definitely recommend Joe Fortes!

“A great place for our last night in Vancouver”
Reviewed September 11, 2013

For the last night of our fortnight's holiday in B.C. we decided to eat at Joe Fortes. Our friends had eaten there previously and raved about it.

Joe Fortes is probably one of the best known restaurants in Vancouver and is included in lots of restaurant review lists. Walk down Thurlow Street and you can't miss it with the bright yellow taxi parked outside.

Booking is essential if you don't want to be disappointed.

Everything about Joe Fortes is fantastic from the supermodel welcomers (sexist male reviewer) to the amazing interior, atmosphere and most importantly excellent food.

There is the most amazing choice of seafood and an excellent wine list. Service was very good although we seemed to have two waiters serving us which became a little confusing.

Yes it is expensive, but eating out in Vancouver isn't cheap anywhere. If you want to go somewhere with great food and a good buzz then you probably won't beat Joe Fortes.

“Great food and service”
Reviewed September 11, 2013

We were recommended to try this restaurant and were not disappointed. Although it is advisable to book we went early and were shown to a good table. The waiter, Michael was professional, friendly and very funny, obviously a fan of Monty Python. He also gave us a brief history of the man, Joe Fortes.
The food was delicious - we had sockeye salmon, halibut and creme brulee. Wine can be bought by the glass. BYO has a corkage of $35 so probably easier and cheaper to order the wine there.
I would certainly recommend this restaurant.
