Rob Feenie's Cactus Club restaurants are numerous in Vancouver. The food is typically ok, predictable, to pretty good, but kinda pricey. The newest locale at English Bay (at the end of Denman St at Beach St) has wonderful views. The lower beach level with outdoor seating typically has long waits during lovely sunny days/evenings (no reservations). Reservations are available upstairs/inside as is the somewhat delicate valet parking (one has to cross very busy bikeways & pedestrian walks). There is also a takeout accessible at the lower level / beachside. Lots of young, pretty, mostly scantily female clad servers milling about. Wine selections are not bad and typically twice retail. Some examples of the food: the rocket salad is good; so is the duck clubhouse sandwich; tuna takati is very good; fish tacos could have more fish (lingcod) & less shredded cabbage so average at best; won ton soup ($9) plus add shrimp/prawns ($9) is tasty but a bit expensive; and the flatbread is good. The menu is varied so has something for all tastes and ages. Patrons are usually a younger crowd. Downtown locations are typically very busy at lunch and during cocktail hour.
