“Lives up to its reputation!”

You can usually get an idea about a restaurant by looking it over from the sidewalk or taking a peak inside the door, but one never knows quite what to expect when you have to climg up a stairwell to get to a restaurant. Rest assured, it is worth it! Great food, well presented, and good service. Reservations are recommended for this popular restaurant. And ask for a table by the windows - they overlook lively Robson Street.

“What a place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2012

The restaurant was extremely busy but the welcome, decor and service were fantastic! We had the stuffed squid for starters, which was highly unusual for Brits, but were delicious. The fillet steaks and accompanying side orders were superlative in both quality and cooking to your taste. Good choice of wines and Italian beer available.

The atmoshere in the establishment was great, lots of chatter and extremely happy people. The jovality, humour and professionalism of the staff made the evening. This is the place to go in Vancouver to relax in a very cordial atmoshere and be knocked out by the quality of the food and service. Highly recommended!

“Great balcony on Robson Street”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2012

We lucked out in getting a table overlooking the street so we could watch the activity on this busy tourist mecca. We had an excellent gourmet meal in an outdoor setting with trees above us and the street below--very enjoyable. The waiter was attentive and kept coming back to check on us. Rather pricey, especially the wine, but excellent fish.

“Good, but not a good value”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2012 via mobile

This is a nice place in the heart of Vancouver's downtown. Nice atmosphere. Food is good. Prices are over the top. Go there for the experience. If you have a full meal (appetizers to desert) plus drinks before and after, be prepared for a hefty tab. The food is good, but not a good value at the going prices.

“Never judge a book by its cover...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2012

Very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. The soups were excellent. The service exemplary. The wine list extensive and good but overpriced. I had cause to complain and the staff were quick to react and replace the dish. I chose Leg of Lamb, I questioned it was leg, and was assured the lack of taste was in the Sous Vide cooking. Utter nonsense. I was then told it was sirloin of lamb from the top of the leg. Obviously someone moved the loin whilst the lamb wasn't looking! Sorry but it should have been excellent, and was spoilt by lame excuses (forgivable pun?) Maybe just an off night, but expensive for silly excuses to be offered up...
