“Delightful Meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2013

Led here by all the reviews on TA and Open Table. We felt we were well advised. Small menu, but additional seasonal choices offered off the menu. We both started with the heirloom tomato salad, which was fresh and flavorable. My friend had the halibut and I had the tenderloin. Both also delicious. Madeline cake and homemade strawberry cake to finish. All good. The staff was pleasant and friendly. This is not a place where they rush you, so you do not have someone often in your face, so you may end up pouring your own wine (saw this in another review), but once you realize that all the other tables have been there a while and are just hanging' back and enjoying the non-rushed attitude, you can just go with the flo. I still had some wine left during dessert and my friend was finished, so one of the servers came over and asked her if she would like another glass since they noticed she didn't have anything to drink. These days servers are rushing you out the door to turn over a table. Not at Bishop's. we would definitely return.

“Nice small restaurant with good service and nice cuisine”

We visited this restaurant together with our friends at our last night in Vancouver. It was definitely our best dining experience in Vancouver for all 8 days being there! I recommend this place for fine dining in the city!

“Supposed to be the best of Vancouver”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

This is rated number one restaurant in Vancouver by tripadvisor, however for us it fell short. Maybe it was due to the expectation that it would be over the top that it fell short. The service fell short, I had to pour our wine a couple of times. The food was good, just not as good as our meal the evening before at Blue Water Cafe. We had the crab appetizer, ling cod, and halibut. As I said it was good just not great and the service was lacking.

“5 star dining in a charming yet almost obscure location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2013 via mobile

Dinner was exquisite. My wife enjoyed the beet salad and me, the tortellini appetizer. Her tenderloin entree was flavorful and my halibut was one of the best I've had Service was expedient, yet unobtrusive.

“Elegant, Intimate Fine Dining”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2013

We experienced a truly special evening at this small, quiet, yet quite busy restaurant in Kitsilano. Easy to find by car or cab from downtown, with plenty of nearby on-street parking available the Saturday evening we were there. Our group was able to enjoy a quiet conversation (unlike at Coast the night before). The entire staff was extremely helpful and all made us feel welcomed from the minute we arrived until we finally departed. Attentive, excellent service paired with a delightful seasonal menu. Fine dining as many remember it to be.

Not a huge menu, but so diverse and well thought out, it made it hard to choose an entree, as the descriptions made them all sounded wonderful. Our group from Colorado stayed mostly on the seafood side of the dishes, beginning with delightful dungeness crab salads, gazpacho with shrimp and the grilled octopus appetizers then moving on to separate ling cod, halibut and salmon entree preparations that were each totally different but wonderful.

Certainly, one of our finest dining adventures this trip to Vancouver & Victoria and it was easy to see why Bishop's consistently ranks so high on Trip Advisor and with other reviewers. Do not let the building exterior or neighborhood deceive you, this is one special delight worth seeking out for a special occasion or to just get away from the larger, louder places in Vancouver often found at a similar upper price point when all is said and done.
