Very well positioned for exploring Vancouver and we found we could walk everywhere. The front desk staff were very helpful and what they recommended were excellent restaurants. A lovely boutique hotel and I would return.

Room Tip: We had a room on the 5th floor which was very nice but had no drawers to unpack your clothes. Had 2 wardrobes.

We stayed at the Loden to celebrate our ten year anniversary. The staff were gracious & welcoming (as always). It was the perfect setting for such a romantic, relaxing evening as we had (rather than being at one of the big hotels in the area). While we went for a stroll on Robson pre-dinner, the staff turned down our room and left a lovely package to celebrate our evening. It was a very nice & thoughtful touch.

We had a corner room with a lovely view. It was quiet, impeccably clean & so comfortable. We have traveled internationally and this is definitely one of our favourites.

Thank you Loden for such a special evening.

A truly pleasant experience overall. The Front Desk is especially helpful with tips and recommendations. Valet is friendly, but not always available. Rooms were spacious, modern, and clean. Location was convenient enough, away from the hectic and noisy streets. A very lovely boutique hotel and would return again.

The Loden is a discreet, first rate hotel located in an ideal location in Vancouver,. Walking distance to Coal Harbour and a short walk to the business and financial centre along Burrard.

The Tableau restaurant is wonderful, especially the patio along Melville.

Rooms are clean, beautifully laid out and especially provide excellent value.Great decor and ambiance.

This is a good hotel in a good location but without any WOW factor. The services are limited for a property that is labeled 5* - for example, I found out to my dismay that the hotel offers only continental breakfast with the kitchen opening only at 10:30, i.e. tough luck for those who like fat and proteins in the morning :-).

The demeanor of the staff was, in my perception, somewhat arrogant, and there were few other deficiencies in the delivery of the service (I stayed only one night – not enough to jump to conclusions).

The lobby has a nice design but small. The rooms are well designed and functional but small by North-American standards and have minor issues with the quality of the work. The big issue was a very noisy conditioning system - again, not acceptable, in my opinion, for a property that positions itself at the higher end of the market.

I had a corner room on the 3rd floor – the window was just over the roof of the street level offices which was not beautiful. I think that views from rooms at higher floors are mediocre too (my friends had a room on the 11th floor, and one could only see the building across the street) (in fairness, views are not advertised as a feature of this hotel).

The conclusion – I think that Hotel Loden is a good option on the upper end of the market, as long as you can get a good deal. I think that there are more spectacular options in the area that offer better value – see the Fairmonts or Shangri-La (even if the room price is a bit higher, one often can claw back the value through property credits, or free breakfast options, or other freebees and deals), and there are also more economic yet good choices in the neighborhood for travelers who are price sensitive.
