“Ease of transport even with our travel bags”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2013

We used the Sky Train from the International Airport to Downtown Vancouver, after reading reviews here. We asked direction from the very helpful staff after finding it upstairs/escalator. Tickets from the vending machine, helped by constant staff.
Very clean, ease of getting on with bags a breeze, and a had a good look along the way to Downtown Vancouver.
The walk was a bit far to our accommodation in the heat,(between the two stations) and I would have gone by a Taxi from the Station we got off at, had I known :) Cost very reasonable.
But saw lots on the way, and did our bodies good to walk after our flights.

“Best ride to Downtown from the airport”

Don't waste money on cab fare, if your hotel or destination are anywhere near the sky train lines, take transit, you will get there faster and for a fraction of the price.

“Good public transport system”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2013

Skytrain was the first automated – no driver - city train transport system in the world or so they tell you. Being a modern system all of the platforms and carriages are fully accessible with carriages that sit close, even and level with platforms which makes them very user friendly.
Skytrain is a key element of the integrated public transport system for Vancouver: one that must the envy of many cities who would befit from having a similar system. Skytrain, bus and seabus are all accessed via one ticket system which is currently being changed to a modern near field or contactless card system similar to London’s.
We travelled the full length of the Skytrain system which when it is actually out of tunnels that it inevitable is in the uptown area provides an excellent view point from which to see the city – it would almost be worth doing the rounds for that reason alone.
The only problem we encountered was confusing signs and means of access to some lines in City Centre. Two of the three lines are easy to use and access, the other you have to go through the basement of a big shop to access – the shop does not open until 0930 and how passengers are supposed to find their way to the platform we never did manage to work out. Some of the signage in this area was also providing lots of scope for improvement.
Overall, I’d have to say that it was nicest experiences that I have had using public transport in a number of countries and I can state with confidence that if we return to Vancouver, we will look forward to using the Skytrain.

“Transit of choice, especially during fireworks”

They have the sound and light festival here. Forget your car, take the skytrain. Unlike asian, there's no gropping here, just fast friendly service.
