“Fast, Affordable, Cost Efficient and Differently-Abled Accessible”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

Hats off to Vancouver's excellent public transport system- with the Canada Line, Millennium Line and Expo Line, the average tourist can get almost anywhere and and to all attractions without the confusion brought about by multiple bus stops.

On weekends, anyplace is just a one zone fare at CAD$2.75.

In late 2013, Translink will be implementing the Compass Card, (appears to be a prepaid fare debit card) which would greatly streamline the process of having to either fumble for change at the ticket machine or validate fare saver tickets from a booklet. (It will also eliminate fare cheats too).

“Fast, reliable”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

Fast, reliable, and relatively affordable. Reasonably clean. Don't worry too much if you miss one, the next one will come along fairly quickly. On workday mornings I usually find it to be standing room only. Ride off-peak hours if you have a choice. It's not a 24 hour service, so if you are out really really late or really really early, check the website for times.

“Fast, fairly cheap, easy to use.”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

Up coming stops are announced and you can track your journey using the map over the doors. Not much seating, so you may have to stand, but the stops are quite soft so you won't be thrown about.
The only issue I had was figuring out what direction I was facing (did I want a West or East-bound train?), but otherwise they were foolproof.
One goes from right outside the airport to downtown, probably in about 20 minutes.
It took me about 10 min to get from Burnaby to W Georgia, I took it everyday and, since they come so often, didn't even plan times.

“Great way to Get Around”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

Fastest way from the airport to downtown. Don't be afraid to use it (the Canada Line) or any of the other lines to get where you are going. It's a work in progress, but it beats the heck out of big city driving

“Not exactly an attraction - but best way to get from YVR to Downtown Vancouver”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

The SkyTrain is just a mode of public transportation. I wouldn't rate it as an attraction but thought I'd write a review anyway...
It cost $4.00 to take the train from downtown (I took it from the City Centre stop) to the airport. At 7am, it took less than 25 minutes.
Buy a fare zone 2 ticket at the machine and hop on the Canada Line to YVR...make sure you get on the train that says YVR or else you could end up in Richmond as your final destination!
