“Quick and convenient way to go to hotel from airport”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Compared to the price of a taxi, the cost was great and it didn't take long to get to the Waterfront stop.

“Hop on and off with a DayPass.”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

1 day itinerary: Head to North Vancouver from Downtown Vancouver. Do a complete u-turn and return to Downtown Vancouver in order to visit Chinatown, Gastown, Granville Island and Stanley Park.

TIP: Before boarding any buses, SkyTrains or SeaBus, please verify your destination with either the Bus Driver or any official employees of Translink. Thank you.

A DayPass in Vancouver is only $9. You can purchase a DayPass from any participating Mac's, 7-Eleven, Safeway or London Drugs stores. The DayPass is good 7 days a week for all fare zones.

-From any SkyTrain Station take the SkyTrain to the Waterfront Station. Keep an eye out for the North Vancouver Sea Bus overhead signs. Take a little stroll over the overpass to connect to the Sea Bus. You might be lucky to see Cruise Ships docked on port. Take the Sea Bus to North Vancouver. It is a short ferry ride across the inlet. Enjoy the skyline view of Downtown Vancouver and the mountains of North Vancouver.

-Once dock, exit and you will see the bus terminal in front of you. This is where you take bus #236 to Grouse Mountain or bus #236 to the Capilano Bridge. Lonsdale Quay is to your right from the exit. Have a coffee break and enjoy the waterfront view.

To return, take the Sea Bus back to Downtown Vancouver’s Waterfront SkyTrain Station. Exit the Waterfront SkyTrain Station facing W. Cordorva Street. Cross to the other side of the street and take bus number #50 to loop around Chinatown and Gastown.

Since you have a DayPass, you can hop on and off as you pass by Chinatown and Gastown. TIP: Yes, the distance between Chinatown and Gastown according to your map is within walking distance away, but please do not walk between the 2 locations for safety reasons. Hop on bus #50, where you hop off earlier. After looping around, you will head back to the where you started at the Waterfront SkyTrain Station.

Do not get off the bus #50 remain on this bus because it will head next to Granville Island. Ask the bus driver to let you know when exactly to get off the bus. When you exit the bus, look towards your left for the overhead bridge in order to see the Granville Island sign.

Take a break at Granville Island. To return, take bus #50 (go the other way) and head back to downtown. Exit the bus at W. Pender Street. You may now take bus #19 to head to Stanley Park and spend the rest of the day there.

Once done, take bus #19 (go the other way) and head back to downtown.

Wow! Saves a lot of time and money. You even get to go on the bus included in the fee for the skytrain.

“Rarely take our car downtown anymore”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

The Skytrain is our vehicle of choice when travelling into Vancouver from New Westminster. Safe, cheap and direct, it is the only way to travel.
Being an elevated train you get to see the different city sights in one trip!
