this, in my opinion is the most beautiful building in Vancouver. The details on the exterior are truly very beautiful. A rare find in "the concrete jungle".

we popped in just for a look and were amazed at the art deco designs and décor inside. It is a treasure hidden amongst the high rises but well worth seeking out.

“Art Deco building shines”
Reviewed July 24, 2014

An awesome example of Art Deco architecture, with tons of nautical design elements. You can go inside also and examine the elaborate interior style. The elevator doors are on equal par with those in the Chrysler Building in New York. Very near the waterfront too.

“most beautiful building in Vancouver”
Reviewed July 22, 2014

take the polished elevators and marvel at the lobby. Vancouver's architecture can be blandly new, and fortunately for us we have a few gems to be proud of. The marine building is imaginative and whimsical and i have had the good fortune to be in the private penthouse offices. This used to be the part time home for the Guiness family that built the Lions gate bridge - replicas of the Lions are up there on the deck that overseas the harbour that are actually the scale models for the ones on the bridge. there is a very small elevator to that last top floor and was made to let the little girl bring her miniature pony up to the suite. most furniture has to be assembled in the suite as it cant fit through the stair wells or that pony elevator...so no giant antiques living up there. There are resturants/pub on the ground level that of course werent there in the original building. but its nice to be able to have an excuse to go take in the buildings' decorative motifs and find relief that vancouver isnt only glass and concrete.

“Beautiful architecture”
Reviewed July 18, 2014 via mobile

Don't expect a tour or anything, but feel free to wander around during the week to see the amazingly detailed architecture throughout this building.
