That's right... you need to also be a nudist or at least willing to try it while at Wreck Beach to fit in and be accepted. Will you be attacked or threatened otherwise? No, of course not... this is Canada! But Wreck Beach is not a place for fully clothed visitors to gawk and try to take photos (you will be approached and asked to stop). There are lots of other great beaches for visitors who want to keep their clothes on -try English Bay and Kits Beach.
Back to Wreck... there are actually some rules and 'beach monitors' to keep them enforced... no sex in public and no photos are 2 of the most obvious. Just be cool, drop your clothes and you'll have a great time. And of course -take all garbage back with you up the (long) trail, as there aren't trash containers on the beach.

Wreck beach is a magical place where I can strip of my layers of clothes and judgements, troubles and insecurities and become one with the earth. wreck beach has the friendliest people in vancouver and the most welcoming atmosphere, unless of course you are going there to gawk and take pictures, then dont plan on being very welcomed.
Wreck beack is a beautiful secluded beach where all you can see is mountains trees water sky and sand. You will be offered everything from juice, to margaritas, pot brownies, magic mushrooms, samosas and coconut buns. at night the beach clears out except the late nighters who want to sit by a fire and sing some songs. please take your garbage back up the hill with you when you leave and dont bring glass bottles!
