“Vancouver downtown has little to offer, besides many starbucks and the regular trendy stores.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2014

Sadly downtown Vancouver has very little culture or history and little to no architectural views. There are too many starbucks everywhere sometimes kitty corner to eachother??? The stores are just regular trendy stores like a giant shopping mall. Restaurants for the majority are over rated and over hyped but lack quality, I guess hype keeps business going. Sadly Vancouver seems to be well over rated and hyped kind of like NY.

“Vancouver World's Best Ocean & Mountain City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014

I moved here to Vancouver in 1986 from England. No other city in the world is as clean and green and has the Pacific Ocean lapping against it's shores offering surrounding mountains views and legendary Stanley Park to experience. Downtown Vancouver is a safe city. Surrounded on three side by water you will find a wonderful climate that rarely freezes and is not as rainy as everyone makes it out to be. I have lived in Vancouver for close to 39 years and every weekend feels like a vacation because there is so much to see and do here. Vancouverites are an awesome local people offering high ethnic diversity and a true West Coast laid back charm. What other downtown can boast a multitude of ocean rich beaches with rockstar supernatural views? Vancouver chose decades ago to ban the use of major highways in it's downtown core. I might take you a little longer to get around but because of this one urban planning decision Vancouver offers a true downtown experience without noisy highways cutting up the city into sections. I used to live in downtown Vancouver's West End that is wedged between downtown Vancouver and on the other side runs directly into the Pacific Ocean and Stanley Park . . . . awesome place to live when you are young or retired.

“So much to do in Vancouver”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014

Vancouver is a beautiful coastal city with mountains as the back drop and the sea at the doorstep. Downtown Vancouver is a very walkable city with a diversity of areas to see. The West End adjacent Stanley Park has many cafés and small shops to browse. Robs on Street has several blocks of high end fashion stores and coffee shops. Visit Gastown for a touristy area, Yaletown for upbeat restaurants with outdoor seating and upscale boutique shops and go to Chinatown for real authentic Asia shops and restaurants. The only area to avoid is the Downtown Eastside near Hastings and Main Streets where unfortunately the homeless and some drug addicts prevail.

“overrated”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014

Rains way too much, crazy traffic congestion for such a small city, people are unfriendly. Architecture is quite modern but somewhat soulless. The natural setting and view is nice with the mountains and ocean.
