I found downtown Vancouver and Vancouver overall a little boring as a tourist. The area around Robson felt somewhat pretentious, lacking in history and character.
Its just shops and restaurants. Most of them chains.
It just didnt have an identity to me. Just stylish people(Asians) dressed up to go shopping.
The high rises around seem like cookie cutter architecture. All the same window shapes, proportions, height etc.
Gastown probably is the most interesting.
If you are from a large city, (Los Angeles, NYC, etc), Vancouver and its "streets" arent all that interesting.
