“Clean, friendly, and lots to do.”

Every type of shop you want from Coach to bargain shops. Get to Robson Street and spend an few hours shopping and visiting restaurants. Get to Davies street for cheaper eats and more variety of foods. Bus system to excellent all taxis are small and energy efficient. People are friendly. Even the few panhandlers are polite! Get to Canada Place for more sites and do not miss a trip to Stanley park.

really glad we had a stop over in vancouver to see most of the sights. there is alot to take in. the views are really to die for and i understand why people who visit could actually end up staying. everything is so unique and lots of different glass building. i would recommend taking the time out to see this wonderful city.

“Such a Beautiful City!”
Reviewed December 26, 2012

I spent the day in Vancouver with some friends. We drove up from Seattle, crossed the border, and parked downtown at an all day parking garage. We had such an enjoyable time exploring this beautiful. So many unique restaurants, parks, and architecture to enjoy. We loved all of the glass buildings and walked down to the waterfront for the sunset. Definitely getting a hotel next time and spending more than just a day. Can't wait to return!

Enjoyable, but not particularly memorable. The view from Stanley Park is excellent and there is good shopping.

“Some Christmas walkabouts.”
Reviewed December 25, 2012

We (a senior couple) did a mini-stay of two-days and nights in downtown Vancouver in late-December, which included several walkabouts of hotels, centres, and the like to experience some of the Christmas spirit. The stay, which included an evening at 'The Centre for the Performing Arts', to attend a Goh Ballet performance of 'The Nutcracker', was a shared Christmas gift, and much-enjoyed.

Much of downtown Vancouver was decked-out for the holidays - here are some of the venues and sights we enjoyed:

- Robson Square -- alive & colourful - with public ice skating, and a band performing Christmas and other music. We did not skate, but we sure enjoyed absorbing the sights & sounds of what was happening there one evening.

- Hyatt Hotel -- the 'gingerbread and other pastry creations and displays' in the lobby -- some of the designs and constructions were almost unbelievable - but all, from the simplest to most complex were wonderful to behold!! And if you stood close to many, you could 'savour' the scents of their makings. This was the best display we saw during our walkabouts.

- Canada Place -- a morning walk along the Canada Trail to soak in some of the harbour sights, and see the Woodward's window displays. Great natural sights & sounds, combined with the window displays - though the latter, were just 'shades' of what Woodward's used to display in their store windows.

- Four Seasons Hotel -- some beautifully-decorated Christmas trees in the lobby.

- Pacific Centre -- some more beautifully-decorated Christmas trees in the Mall.

Along with browsing some other stores, streets, and the like, we thoroughly-enjoyed experiencing some of the sights & sounds of Christmas in our downtown Vancouver walkabouts.
