I have had the vietnamese dinner staples , caramelised fish stew and hot and sour soup in numerous restaurants in Australia,USA and Vietnam and the best by far can be found at Hai Phong. The stew was peppery , garlicky and the fish fresh and cooked to just done . The sauce was bubbling as it came out . The soup had the perfect balance of sweet, sour and heat. It was simply amazing .We had a small bowl which was huge , you have the option of paying $3 extra to have it come out on a small gas burner which keeps it nice and hot . I recommend that option .We had the two dishes , rice , a beer, the rainbow sweet dessert and a smoothy for a ridiculously cheap price of $44. Service was also very good , they even offered to call a cab for us .
