“Much too short”
Reviewed February 11, 2014

This was much too short and as some other reviewers have pointed out there are some provinces missing. It appeared at one point that we would go to Haida Gwaii, but that didn't happen. It is too expensive for what you get.
We also saw the Flight of the Dragon which was quite a wild ride and very interesting. Without this added film I would have been disappointed with the cost and the length of the Fly Over Canada feature.
As another reviewer pointed out the hanging about in the outer room is confusing and a waste of time. It also took ages to purchase tickets. While there seemed to be 3 people working, only one was taking money while one stood by watching.

Hi Magab - Thanks for providing the feedback. We have worked hard to provide the longest ride experience possible while at the same time keeping it a comfortable experience for all of our guests. At its core, FlyOver Canada features an amusement ride that is classified as a motion ride. Research and experience informs us that with 100s of thousands of people riding annually, some guests will begin to feel uncomfortable at the 5 to 6 minute mark and this incidence increases greatly at the 10 to 12 minute mark. This is one of the reasons why you won't find a 15 minute roller coaster or other motion ride. We experimented and worked with ride engineers to produce an 8 minute experience that is both gentle and thrilling and comfortable for all riders. As it stands, FlyOver Canada is the longest flying theatre ride on the planet and is almost twice as long as its its counterpart Soarin' at Disney. Having said this, we are always striving to improve the experience and will be introducing new experiences in 2015. Thanks again for the feedback and we're pleased you rated us 4 out 5 stars.

“Too Short”
Reviewed February 9, 2014

We loved the actual ride and would go back to experience it all again. However, it was too short for a $21 ride. The pre-ride room where we all were standing around looking at a slide show can be skipped all together. In my opinion is boring and probably devised as filler for what is essentially an 8 minute ride. Suggestion for a better experience: double the ride time and eliminate the pre-ride slide show.

Hi Rew1309 - Thanks for writing. At its core, FlyOver Canada features the ultimate flying ride which is an amusement ride called a "flying theatre" and is considered a "motion ride". We have found some guests arrive with the wrong expectations - that they are coming to a cinema or film and expect to be sitting for an hour plus. FlyOver Canada is definitely not a film or cinema experience in the traditional sense - it's a ride. Research and experience informs us that a small percentage of the public will feel uncomfortable on motion rides at the 4 to 6 minute mark and this increases sharply as you approach the 10 to 12 minute mark. Consequently, we worked for months to lengthen the experience to what we deemed was reasonably possible without drastically reducing the motion (and defeating the purpose). FlyOver Canada is almost twice as long as Disney's Soarin' Over California and today is the longest ride of its type on the planet. However, we continue to innovate and will be looking at all possibilities to improve the guest experience as we roll out new shows in coming years. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to your next visit.

“Interesting attraction”

I have been on a ride like this in Disneyland. It was good to see all the provinces but seems some were missing. Good attraction for the tourists and school children.

Hi ComingForTheSun - Thanks for visiting. You're right tourists do love FlyOver Canada but we have found a big part of our demographic are locals and Canadians who are proud of their country and want to see it in this unique way. Canadians and Vancouverites are some of our biggest fans! Thanks for taking the time to write.

“Terrifying to tremendous!”
Reviewed February 3, 2014

Whatever else you decide to spent your time on in Vancouver, you MUST go and see this! We also saw Flight of the Dragon included in the price as it was on for Chinese New Year, either way, I started the experience not knowing what to expect but was excited. Moving into a room with 2 benches and visuals on all the walls was confusing... until they moved us once there was an adequate number to run the ride..we were moved into another room with circles on the floor to recieve more instruction. The last time we were led around and up to the ride itself where we had to place all loose objects into the bins below the seats then strap ourselves in with legs dangling. I held on for dear life as the ride moved and all sense of being in a room watching a movie dissolved into terror as we swept over sky high peaks and swooped down into meadows filled with flowers. Being a 4D experience the ride not only tilted and bumped ( gently though) but as we rode over the meadow we felt the breeze and smelled the flowers! The ocean and the snowcapped rockies found us misted by spray and snowflakes. It was an emotionally provoking ride like nothing I had experienced before being so dramatic and beautiful in its nature that it made you feel like you were actually there, flying over China and Canada :)
