This week, a group of 6 of us went on a White Moustache Food Tour. I wasn't sure what to expect, but, Rick and Lee went above and beyond any expectations I did have! The six of us were picked up at a common location and whisked off for a wonderful adventure full of laughs and great food. We were impressed by Rick and Lee because we had a couple of foodie stipulations that had to be followed on our tour - no gluten and no pork. Now, most people be concerned about a foodie experience without gluten, but Rick and Lee just went with the challenge and, without skipping a beat, planned four amazing stops! What impressed me most with the restaurants we visited was that the food at each was quite outstanding - much of it being organic, natural, and featuring many locally sourced ingredients. Along the way, Rick talked about the restaurants we were going to visit and other restaurants in the area as well. Not only did we get to try some amazing eateries, which we will visit again, but we also left with along list of other restaurants to visit on our own in the future. After our four stops, we were driven back to our original location. What a great, no fuss evening, full of wonderful surprises!
A few tips for those going on a food tour:
1. Do not wear white (one of the great things about this tour is the surprise factor, so you just never know when something red will be served. Better to be safe, than sorry.)
2. Do not eat much before the tour. Oh my! Leave some room, you're going to need it.
3. Wear something very comfortable with room - dresses are wonderful for food tours!
You will not be disappointed with the White Moustache Food Tour! It was a wonderful experience. We look forward to doing it again!
