This place only opened about 3 weeks ago and has gotten very little attention. Despite that, it's really jumping, so being here made me feel like I was on the leading edge!
For years, every time I drove past this boarded-up heritage building, I wondered if anyone would ever fix it up or if it would get torn down in favour of yet another condo tower. What a nice surprise to see it restored so nicely and with such a good restaurant on its ground floor.
I had the pasta special, which was excellent, and my dining companion had the trout salad, which was very pretty and she said was also very tasty. We also had a couple of their non-alcoholic cocktails, which were fun, good-looking and refreshing. I snuck peaks at the food on other people's tables, which also looked really good, particularly the roast items. The hostess was engaging and the servers were very good.
A particularly nice surprise on a lovely July day was that we got to sit on their patio. Vancouver simply doesn't have enough patios, so it's good that HSC has givenus a new one!
