Description: Chef Whittaker’s vision features dishes that are unpretentious and innovatively prepared using products sourced from local and organic farmers, fishers and producers whenever possible. These combine for a menu featuring snacks such as “crackling & popcorn”; a variety of creative “boards” and “irons” to share; tasty “plates” to nosh on together or enjoy solo as a main; and desserts for a sweet (and a bit savoury) finish.

There's little more one can say about Forage other than that each dish (and they serve small plates, so our party of three sampled five) was superbly prepared of the freshest, local ingredients. The mushrooms, beet salad, halibut, and risotto were all extraordinary. It was a warm evening in the middle of an unusual hot spell, and the dining room (not air-conditioned) was a bit stuffy. But that's the only criticism I can find for this place. A foodie's delight!

Decor is modern, upbeat, and comfortable.
Simon our server welcomed us to Forage and explained how the Tapas style plates are meant to be shared. We noticed his enthusiasm and pride in helping us in our selections. Noted are the Mushroom dish, Halibut and gnocchi, and the Elk strip loin. The layers of flavours were complex and left you wanting for more.
There were four in our party and we felt this was an advantage as we were able to try more dishes.
We also enjoyed The local wine, The Burrowing Owl Merlot.
We all agreed that this was an absolutely sensational meal.

We had an awesome experience here! The service was great, very friendly staff, and the food was phenomenal! Everything was fresh and local. We particularly enjoyed our server, Peter. He was very charming and seemed genuinely interested in as people and not just customers. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and we will definitely be going back!

Great venue, casual and trendy on Robson Street. Fascinating local menu if tapas style small dishes but much more interesting food including wonderful kale and apple crisps, fabulous mushroom dish and even better halibut and elk dishes. Service helpful, knowledgable and cheerful but slightly slow at times but still worth the longish walk there.

We had a very enjoyable dinner with a relative. It's tapas style so we each ordered something and shared. The flavours and presentation were spot-on. We had kale chips, chowder, octopus (very tender), beet salad (beautiful presentation), elk (with mole sauce), halibut, pork carbonara (a little heavy on the salt). 2 in our party had alcohol. The total was only $150.
