Description: Chef Whittaker’s vision features dishes that are unpretentious and innovatively prepared using products sourced from local and organic farmers, fishers and producers whenever possible. These combine for a menu featuring snacks such as “crackling & popcorn”; a variety of creative “boards” and “irons” to share; tasty “plates” to nosh on together or enjoy solo as a main; and desserts for a sweet (and a bit savoury) finish.

“Great food - Strange Attitude of the "host"”
Reviewed February 11, 2014

We really enjoyed our complimentary breakfast as we stayed at the Listel - nicely presented. Thank you. The restaurant was very busy (although there were empty) tables and when we first arrived we were greeted by a "hoity toity" host who asked if we had reservations and just gave off an unfriendly vibe....sorry - but a smile goes a long way.

“Awesome place”
Reviewed January 31, 2014

The staff were incredibly friendly, and the place had a very welcoming atmosphere. The food was both interesting and delicious (for breakfast and brunch/lunch) and cooked perfectly (poached eggs were spot on). I visited during a recent trip to Vancouver and felt compelled to go back multiple times.

“Jewel of downtown Vancouver”
Reviewed January 29, 2014

We saw Chef Whittaker on TV and then found ourselves in Vancouver a few weeks later. Naturally, we had to give it a try. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere, staff and food were incredible. The whole concept is to share various plates. The staff were helpful with recommendations yet gave us the freedom to experiment. In the end, they took our selections and brought them out paired where appropriate and in an order that enhanced the experience. I can honestly say this was one of the best meals I have had.

Two days later, we were looking for a place for breakfast and again thought about Forage. With a completely different atmosphere, we again had a fabulous meal. I will recommend Forage to anyone I know visiting Vancouver and have already mentioned it to local friends and family in the area.

“Cool Nosh Spot”
Reviewed January 29, 2014 via mobile

I dined here twice during my visit to Vancouver and loved the cool ambience and creative approach of tasting plates bowls and boards of sustainable local seasonal produce. Its best visited with friends so you can share but I sat at the bar which was buzzy and was well looked after by a convivial bar man. There is a carefully chosen wine list including some fine BC choices. I had a 3 course dine out vancouver meal one night and 2 plates the other and on both occasions the meals were delightful : simply prepared fresh ingrediants and nice presentation.
